Collyhurst was a down at heel area on the North side of town, long before the terms gentrification or Northern Quarter came into common parlance. I wanted to have someone put up a plaque, but nobody in the stores knew who to call.”– Richard Bluejay Enowatch pt.48271 – I’ve been fair obsessed with all things Eno of late, not least because the recent Gary Hustwit and Brendan Dawes AV piece, ‘Nothing Can Ever Be The Same’, premiered at the Venice Biennale last week. This 168 hour installation takes Eno’s video and music archive and uses it as material to feed the generative engines they’ve built whilst also serving as a kind of trailer for Hustwit’s ‘Eno’ film due next year. See examples of it below.

The lads from Electric Circus are amazing. I dealt with Jason throughout my booking and he was so nice to deal with. He made it easy which is great at a hectic time. Then our day finally arrived and to say that the lads were excellent is an understatement. They are by far the best band I have ever heard. They could sing and play the alphabet and it would sound amazing. They play all genres of music so everyone is entertained and the floor is full all night. They are gifted musicians. I also had them as our D.J. once they had finished their live set and did a spectacular job of that too. They made sure to include everything that I had asked for and my guests are still talking about them today. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has yet to choose a band for their big day. It was our pleasure to have Electric Circus be a part of our wedding. Thank you guys x The book is a powerful and thought-provoking exploration of the anxieties and uncertainties of modern life. The use of metaphor and exploration of universal themes make it a timeless piece of literature that is sure to resonate with readers for years to come. Lipton's skillful storytelling, character development, and use of vivid imagery create an immersive reading experience that leaves a lasting impression on readers. A Must-Read for All

She co-hosted alongside Michael Williams, who had already established himself as a powerhouse VJ on MuchMusic and host of Much's first specialty shows like Power Hour and Soul in the City. There are many ads and other posters for the Electric Circus on the web but few are in high quality unfortunately. The main logo typeface (and possibly a lot of the ad layouts) was designed by design company Chermayeff-Geismar, a world-reknown practice who are still in business today. Electric Circus know how to get the party started, with a dedicated line-up of experienced musicians offering a wide range of songs. We understand what it takes to deliver the best - and your big day deserves the best!

Comes the Electric Circus is a novel that reflects the tumultuous changes from the traditional 1950's to the mind-blowing 60's. The story of the romance between two young Manhattanites, at a time when New York became the world's capitol of finance and the arts, captures the evolution of their love in the midst of the radical developments in the social and intellectual shifts that re-shaped America. Working in the lively television and magazine communication business, the couple witnesses conventional conservative values spin out of control with the advent of the sexual revolution, the Beats, the Boomers, cool jazz, new journalism, the rise of television and the continued escalation of the Cold War and Space Race. How does the young couple survive the mayhem and maintain their closeness? Instead, he was eager to replace it with another broad music narrowcast, a live dance show that would highlight the new space at 299 Queen Street West, in what he termed "the living movie". These are nearly the last of the sessions that I recorded earlier this year in preparation for the Ramsgate Music Hall gig (which has just celebrated 10 years as a venue!). I’m hoping to get one more release out by the end of the year and there are some other pieces I’m saving for a label compilation that may come in cassette form in the new year which will tie up this phase of my label, Infinite Illectrik. There are a few more pieces floating around though; one will be coming out on a compilation early next year, another two will be part of a physical release on a new label at some point in 2024 too, more on that when I’ve finished the design. The Quadraphon is getting a companion soon which may change the whole set up and I also want to work on the hole in the catalogue, ii03, which still isn’t underway and is a very different beast. Circus master PT Barnum (1810-1891) and ‘General Tom Thumb’ (the stage name of Charles Sherwood Stratton (1838-1883). Portrait circa 1850. Photograph: Science History Images/Alamy Whether you were inside or outside, into the latest club sounds or just watching on TV to make fun of the dancing, EC became an essential weekend destination in T.O.As for what to call it, Champniss recalls suggesting the title "Electric Circus", which was also the name of an infamous nightclub that had existed at 99 Queen Street East (original home of Citytv and MuchMusic) in the 1960s. In fact, Maestro's experience on the show was career defining - after being asked to appear on the merit of some tapes he had sent in, Wes was baffled by the attire of some EC dancers ("Soul Train meets Dukes of Hazard" is how he described it recently), and wasn't sold on a second appearance. The series was notable for many things, including featuring a multi-racial group of dancing youth, something forbidden on television at the time in North America. Around that time there was a drastic sea change in club culture, as the scene which had gone main-stream in the lead up to the millennium fell victim to resurgence in guitar bands.
