About this deal

Once you have the correct parts ready, the next step is to connect the 3.5mm cable from the Plantronics base unit, to the EHS36 box. You can’t really go wrong here as they will only fit into one slot on each unit, but the picture below highlights where to connect them.

NOTE: If you don’t have a dial tone, don’t panic. You simply need to change the compatibility slide switch to work with your phone. See Step 5 Compatibility Slide Switch below. With its DSP feature its offers crystal clear, natural voice call clarity. Superior Comfort & Call Management With a single full charge, the CS540 will provide up to 6 hours of talk time. Talk time will be reduced when operating in wideband mode or if the headset is used consistently a far distance from the base. Here’s the first feature on the Plantronics CS540, Plantronics C054 office wireless headset that most people aren’t aware of. It comes standard with every CS540 headset. Conferencing

Align the ear loop as shown and insert it onto the headset. Be sure the ear loop is flat against the headset and rotate the ear loop up 90°. This is a step-by-step guide of how to successfully connect a Plantronics CS540 to a Yealink SIP phone (Compatible with T26P, T28P, T38G). SoundGuard is the acoustic-limiting technology that is present in all communications headsets from Plantronics and that protects against sounds above 118 dBA. That’s all you do because once the headset is removed from the base, it turns on automatically without the need to press the call control button on the headset. You’re Done! To make a call, push the button on the side of the CS540 headset to turn the headset on. Press an available line button or your phone or “Headset Button” if available. You should now hear a dial tone. When finished, press the line button again, or “Headset Button”, to disconnect the call, and push the button on the side of the CS540 to turn the headset off. Alternatively, you can leave the headset on at all times and simply press the appropriate buttons on your telephone to take a call and replace when finished.

We get questions about this all the time. Most people have the belief that when they buy a wireless headset, that headset should allow them to answer a call when they’re away from their desk. Other phones have ports that support a non-mechanical version of the HL10 handset lifter. These devices are referred to as EHS cables, or Electronic Hookswitch Cables. Example of an EHS cable being setup When using the headset, the person hears an echo in the ear speaker. This can not only be distracting, or even disorienting for the person wearing the headset, but it can also be very annoying to the person they're talking to.With up to 7 hours of continuous talk time, the CS540 performs dependably in busy office environments whilst affording the flexibility and comfort to move away from your desk. And with advanced CAT-iq wideband audio combined with enhanced DSP, and noise cancelling microphone, the CS540 ensures you can hear and are heard on every call. Why should you buy this headset?

The Microphone Volume dial (settings 1-6) is what controls your microphone volume, or how well your caller hears you. Make sure to call a friend or co-worker for your first call and ask how you sound. Once you set this, your voice rarely changes, so you’ll usually set this during installation and never touch it again. The first thing to understand is the Call Control Button. This is how you turn your headset on and off. This is also the button to press if you’re using the HL10 Handset Lifter or EHS Cable to answer/hang-up calls remotely while away from your desk. When the headset is in use, the LED indicator light will flash white.
