When I opened the center console again to install the Dinavin frame, I made sure to locate and positively seat the solenoid connector. This was easy. A little too easy. Unlike any other electrical connector in the bimmer, this one was loose. It’s very easy to unseat it. For now I simply reseated it. If necessary I will safety wire it in the future.I inadvertently dislodged the magnetic valve solenoid electrical connector. This had the rather unpleasant effect of putting the transmission into limp mode if you leave it in park or neutral with the engine running for too long. I love it when I install a new head unit and in the process break the transmission.

The USB wire attached cannot be removed from the head unit. This will make the installation quite a pain in some cases. In my car I needed to take the whole front plate off and push the wires out.Secondly, you’ll want a head unit with plenty of connectivity options so you can easily sync your smartphone or other devices.
