Another incredible book by Colleen Hoover. Her writing gets to me every time. I was so invested in this’***** Reader Review A breath-taking psychological suspense about obsession and dangerous love from TikTok phenomenon and #1 bestselling author ofVerity, Colleen Hoover. At its core, “Too Late” is a thought-provoking exploration of love and redemption. Through Sloan’s tumultuous journey, Hoover challenges conventional notions of love, emphasising the importance of self-worth and personal growth. The book encourages readers to question societal expectations and find the courage to break free from toxic relationships. It’s a powerful reminder that true love should never come at the expense of one’s well-being. Conclusion: Sometimes a relationship is truly tested. How far will these characters go to prove their love for each other? How far apart do they have to fall to realize how much they belong together? What is the point of retreat? How will the decisions the make effect the people around them that they hold near and dear to their hearts? This Girl

heres a discussion question for you all: at what point are you allowed to negatively rate a work of fiction because there are certain aspects you morally disagree with? additionally, at what point are you allowed to overlook those personal objections because the overall concept/idea of the story is just so dang interesting? this is the dilemma i am currently facing. Too Late originally appeared online chapter by chapter, which held its own attraction for readers, and Hoover has said she found their comments very helpful. The new version has been tidied up and given a much clearer structure, and one of the most unnerving sex scenes has been removed. And even a book as dark as this one offers Hoover’s trademark tropes: funny, flirty conversations, a charming hero, and an idealised but sometimes surprising heroine. So it’s a good bet that this will be another big hit – her last book, It Starts With Us, had an initial print run of 3 million when it was published last year. She has an abusive boyfriend, Asa, and she stays with him since he pays the bills for her brother's care. He treats her poorly, he is violent and shows little redeeming qualities. So far, so enjoyable as a romantic thriller. But there is no getting around one issue: many of the passages told from Asa’s point of view are very uncomfortable. The sex scenes involving him are frightening and destabilising – we don’t know what his limits are. He threatens and chokes Sloan, and describes having sex with her, in detail, to another man. It is a long way from erotic. Today, it is easier than ever to truly communicate with an author and to get response to comment, praise and even criticisms. This is what fuels self-published independent authors. Instant response from their readership, that can guide their projects, and even their plots, to meet the demands of their readers. Five books in sequence have all led Colleen Hoover to best-selling status in the New York Times.

The main character Sloan was somewhat annoying for me, which kept the book from getting all the stars. She is trying to take care of a special needs brother, going to college and putting up with a butt-holey boyfriend who is a nut job. A psychological suspense novel of obsession and dangerous love. The definitive edition of Too Late from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Verity . Had me absolutely hooked. I literally did not have a clue what would happen next!’ ***** Reader Review As an independent American author from Texas, Colleen Hoover came to writing as a hobby, but still something she felt compelled to do. Like most modern working women, she balances her work, her marriage, her two young sons and still finds joy in writing and promoting her own creations.

As all good writers realize, she writes what she knows – family, friendship, change, and especially love. Her plots and characters have immense appeal among young women readers, and she sets her characters in modern day situations of friendship, new relationships, first love, and heartbreak. Slammed I mean for real. She just had a book released yesterday that stated the same thing and from what I’ve heard so far it’s the same angsty instalovey bullcrap with some kind of rip-your-heart-out (assuming that you, unlike me, actually have a heart) plot twist (and YASSSSS of course I’ll still read the damn thing). This book was originally written as a side project by the author. It previously appeared on other platforms under the same title, but has since been slightly edited from its original content and formatted specifically for kindle. Please note that the content of this book is more graphic than the content of other books written by this author, hence the distinction between the names. This title is recommended for mature audiences only due to extreme graphic content. Recommended for readers 18+.

For her fan base, Hoover has also made available a novella for free called Finding Cinderella. How unusual for an author to provide a “thank you “ to their fans for continued support. This is the beauty of internet marketing and social media. Even tough Finding Cinderella is a sequel of sorts, it can stand alone too as its own work. Hopeless She doesn’t sugarcoat the bad parts and glitter the good ones, the heroes are flawed and the villains are human’ ***** Reader Review She was in dire straits trying to pay for her brother's care until she met Asa. But as Sloan became emotionally and economically reliant on him, he in turn developed a disturbing obsession with her - one that becomes increasingly dangerous every day. It was, but mostly, Too Late was a melodramatic get-together of underdeveloped characters and a ridiculous plot line. A breath-taking psychological suspense about obsession and dangerous love. If you loved Verity, this is the No.1 bestselling book you need to read next . . .

Feelings of guilt and remorse have plagued the young Dean, and he searches for a sense of peace in his dilemma with Sky. When they finally reconnect, a greater pain embraced the young man. For the second installment in the series, readers learn more about Holder’s youth, and his search for redemption in the act of saving another. Connecting with Colleen Hoover so there you have it. how am i supposed to positively rate a book that i really quite enjoyed but dont want to be too generous because there is one major flaw that my conscience wont allow me to overlook? its so much better than 3 stars (its at least a 4), but i personally feel way too guilty with giving anything over that. ughhh. The story is about Sloan, a girl that is apparently very strong and unyielding, however, in my opinion, she comes across as a whiny doormat. The book has trigger warnings for “foul language, graphic sexual scenes, murder, sexual assault, and drug use” – a handy reminder that although it is readable and gripping, as the author herself says, it should absolutely not be on the Young Adult shelves.
