About this deal

inch book is large, heavy, and filled with 355 original stunning photographs of the 37 bridges of Paris from different positions and times of day. As a result, Bridges Of Paris is a labor of love that is filled not only with stunning photographs that capture the heart and soul of Paris in all of its splendor and facets, but also with facts, fancy - even poetry! ISBN 0-517-56130-1 (hardcover), ISBN 0-517-56129-8 (softcover), 216 pages; 1995, Three Rivers Press (New York), ISBN 0-517-88430-5, 216 pages.

I’ve been to Paris over a dozen times but, after reading Michael Saint James’ book Bridges of Paris, I now realize how much I’ve missed. Revised Edition by Ron Klinger: Cassell (London) in association with Peter Crawley, 2006, ISBN 978-0-304-36811-2, 160 pages. The explanation that the author gives about the history behind the bridges is what I feel, in my opinion, makes the photos so life like and beautiful. The photos show the bridges in daylight and at night, with people and without, as well as close-up shots of some of the unique architectural features of the bridges. I immediately placed it on my coffee table, with the thought that such a beautiful book with such sumptuous photographs was meant to be shared. The book also contains Maps, an Index, and a Bibliography for those seeking more information on the topic. I think this is a great book for anyone wanting to recapture that experience (or experience it for the first time through photos). After spending a year or two learning the game of bridge, few of us progress to expert level, so Andrew Robson’s Tips for Intermediates is a welcome book for most of us! Vital statistics are included: when the first bridge in this location was built, when the current bridge was opened, the length, width, how many arches, and what the bridge is used for -pedestrians and/or traffic and a brief history.

This second book — Andrew Robson’s Beginner Bridge Flipper— is an excellent, easy to use flipper for beginners, with all the information to get you properly started. This book would make an awesome gift for anyone who loves Europe, but especially travel enthusiasts, those who admire good photography and architectural structures, and history buffs. The bridges are organized by Island Bridges, Palace Bridges, Downstream Bridges, and Upstream Bridges. The author does book designs and we can tell he is good at it because this book is well laid out, from the choice of colors to the way the photographs just jump out at you.Although I have never been to France, photos of the city make me swoon and this book is no exception.

Bridges provide opportunities for both patients and professionals to work collaboratively to enhance self-management skills, knowledge and confidence. Bridges come alive through the camera lens of photographer Michael Saint James in his recent coffee table book release, BRIDGES OF PARIS. All players with a good grasp of the game already will learn a lot from reading this book, even if you are already an experienced Strong and Fives player. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously. This would be a great resource when traveling to Paris, although I think I’d make copies to bring since it is a heavy book.
