But when they begin to fall for one another (or, again, realize that they've always had fire for each other), the story took a turn where I could hardly breathe. The butterflies were a hazard to my health and the giddiness of it all almost choked me. It was a deadly combination and I am not likely to forget this one soon. I think the best books are the ones that are unexpected, and if someone had told me that this author was the mirror image of Lauren Layne, I'd have jumped on board long ago (shut up, Anna, I know). So, with this new discovery, I am smiling and so excited for the possibilities that have opened up by finding this author. Thank God for all my lovely friends....I applaud you for making this perilista very happy in the busiest season of the year. Thank you :) . It’s books like these that make me feel like any review is just inadequate to capture my feelings and love for the characters.

James just shines when it comes to writing humorous situations & dialogue! And, yes, it's silly and over the top in instances, but I still laughed at the stuff these two did to each other while trying to win the partnership spot. Sure, there are a lot of misunderstandings that complicate matters and lead to problems that could have been easily avoided. And if this were a different book, I'd be the first one in line to angrily point out that all the drama was stupid, and that these two would never have acted so unprofessionally, etc., blah, blah, blah. On top of that, it was sweet, easy going with some profound moments, there’s fake dating involved but it’s not dragged out, and relatable mostly bc of the FMC (hello social anxiety/introvert rep) which Sarah conveyed in a humorous way and I definitely related to Annie on this front. ULAR PURPOSE. McGraw-Hill and its licensors do not warrant or guarantee that the functions contained in the work will meet your requirements or that In spite of my high expectations, Practice Makes Perfect was boring, tedious, aggravating, and rather a drag. I almost set it aside in the beginning, and I kind of wish I had. Casual sexism is never okay, not even if you have a “sassy feminist” character to counterbalance it. The additional fact that I found Julie James’ prose to be very stilted and unengaging did not help matters at all.If you are in the mood for some romance without the tragedy, lots of laughs and a feel good ending, this is the book for you! It is my number one cheer me up book - which I know will put me in a good mood every time I read it! In fact just writing about it makes me want to read it again! larly deal on a formal basis (for example, your boss, your professor, your physician, and the local Her explanation about a text he saw (no spoilers!) was just so perfectly handled. These characters are relationship goals and a perfect example of what it means to communicate in a relationship with your partner! Even the required moment of conflict for every romance book fit perfectly for the tone of the book and wasn’t crazy dramatic. THAT CAN BE ACCESSED THROUGH THE WORK VIA HYPERLINK OR OTHERWISE, AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY WARRANTY,

The MMC was generic and boring. Being tattooed, ex military, and emotionally unavailable doesn't automatically make him an interesting love interest. And honestly, there's no way in hell this man who is well-traveled and 'super hot', who has dated models around the world and jumped out of airplanes, is going to fall for such a lame FMC. It doesn't make sense. She forgave him much to easily. She treats it like a joke at the end which makes no sense at all considering who she is.If I waited until I felt confident to live my life and do the things I want to do, I’d never live.” is strictly prohibited. Your right to use the work may be terminated if you fail to comply with these terms. To add insult to injury the hero *never* bothers to set the record straight, he had the chance when the boss said that or later in a meeting. He owed it to her to tell the truth which he never did.

Another annoyance besides the fact that Annie just irritated and frustrated the living stoof out of me is that she would have dialogue that came OUT OF NOWHERE. It was like the author had mapped out these “scenes” and would just jump to them like a squirrel who got distracted by too many nuts. And you're just like, where did this come from? What are we talking about? Who, what, where, how? ALLL THE RELATIVE PRONOUNS!The cause of their eight-year animosity was a bit absurd, if not funny. They wasted eight years because of a petty thing. I almost feel bad for Payton and J.D.. The author is clearly very intelligent and was a lawyer herself. You can tell she knows her stuff and puts that into her writing. Not just content-wise, but also how she tells the story and the sophisticated style of her writing. The only thing I was expecting from this that it didn't deliver on was good sex scenes. There are a minimal amount of physical scenes within this entire book and when they do happen, the author just does the YA trope of drifting off into the distance. It was a buzz kill for me. But, to me, this made it more of an old-fashioned love story. There is no insta love. It is a slow build, enemies-to-lovers romance with no cursing and PG-13 rated love scenes. Other than that, I think they are sweet together. I appreciated the fact that they actually communicate about everything and I liked their banter. Practice Makes Perfect is a small town, friends to lovers, fake dating romance that is a fun, cute, tension filled rom-com that had me smiling and giggling throughout.
