About this deal

The XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro is a continuation of the Artist Pro series which previously only offered tablets larger than 15. Between the XP-Pen Star 03 V2 and Huion H610Pro V2, I think they are relatively even in their build quality, however, they are slightly different in a few places. I really doubt it’s going to break frequently enough that paying ~25 USD for another one is going to be a problem. If you were talking about the XP-Pen Artist 13 (and not the XP-Pen Artist 13 Pro), then the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 is better without a doubt.

As far as I could see, there were no noticeable differences between having it powered by a single USB port, or a power outlet, but this will be different based on how much power your USB port can supply. The IAF (Initial Activation Force) test uses a 300px linear pressure pen to show the thinnest lines possible, as well as demonstrate the IAF of the tablet.

Please Remove Other Brand’s Driver from your computer and reboot before installing the XP-PEN’s driver, or there will driver conflict problems. I almost gave up halfway through, but I tried a different program to see if the same issue persisted. Fortunately (or unfortunately), XP-Pen doesn’t specify the number of pen tilt levels they have on the XP-Pen Artist 12 Pro’s product page, so they aren’t lying about “having” pen tilt, but you can clearly tell it’s not on the same level as Wacom and Huion’s +-60 levels of pen tilt.

The red dial fits comfortably in your hand and, combined with the shortcut keys, can be programmed to do even more customization options to help capture and express your ideas faster and more easily. inch display that comes with a replaceable anti-glare film, this keeps the screen from being scratched and avoids glare. Personally, I rank the Huion slightly higher in terms of drawing performance because it has better pen taper for quick strokes, something I use a lot in my art. Please note, as you can see from my review drawing, I was most certainly able to draw with this amount of inaccuracy, but like I mention in my review, it was difficult doing smaller details because the cursor was not following the pen pixel-by-pixel.It also comes with a replaceable anti-glare optical film and features high transparency and scratch resistance while reducing glare and keeping your screen crisp and clear even bright light. With this bad accuracy issue, the Artist 12 Pro felt quite cumbersome to use for detail work and I believe this is an issue which absolutely needs to be fixed if XP-Pen wants this tablet to be considered a “Pro” tablet as its name would imply. Here is a video where I demonstrate how I move my pen around and the cursor doesn’t follow it exactly: https://youtu. However, from what I have seen, just as many people complain about having multiple separate cables coming out of a tablet, saying it looks messy.

I will give this tablet a pass here since there don’t appear to be any noticeable issues in the pen pressure transitions either. If your tablet has much more noticeable light bleed (especially if it is noticeable on all colours, not just pure black), you may want to contact XP-Pen support to get it replaced.

The tablet feels sturdy when performing a twist test, where I grab both sides of the tablet and try twisting the tablet a bit with just my hands.

I actually forgot the wall plug adapter the other day but I was able to use it anyway thanks to this, I was pleasantly surprised! Adopting fully-laminated technology, the Artist 12 Pro seamlessly combines the glass and screen to create a distraction-free working environment. Personally, I think Huion’s tablets look very cool and sleek, but the drawing capabilities are roughly the same between the two (the pen tilt feature is much worse on the XP-Pen though). The screen size might not suit everyone at first, especially someone who’s used to working on large display monitors like me, but I eventually got used to it after working on it for several days. This also applies to the pen buttons, so you can use combinations of shortcut keys and pen buttons if you need to. That note is actually pasted on the protective film on the screen protector which is on the pen display. If it is between those two tablets, I would recommend the Huion Kamvas Pro 13 because, as you said, I prefer the nicer quality of the Huion Kamvas Pro tablets, and because I find the pen tapering issue of XP-Pen’s drivers to be a rather large hindrance for how I draw. With virtually no parallax, your cursor appears exactly where you want it, offering a real paper-like feel while drawing on this 11.
