About this deal

Dark Angels have been getting a ton of new models lately, so it only makes sense that they would also get a new Combat Patrol alongside their Codex. Odd choice to include am HQ that can't join the units in the box, maybe it was decided, contents wise, before the new rules were written or finalized? These guys are brick and you can really customize them however you want with lots of options to choose from. Far more palatable to play against than the current incarnation and much better for a core force IMO. Now that we’ve added in some flavor to the list we need to go back and fill out some of our core options.

The Dark Angels are the first legion and their Combat Patrol box is actually pretty generic for Space Marines. I'd rather play against this than their current one of 3 flying bolters, a dread, a character and a 5 man intercessor squad. The chaplain is the most difficult model in the kit to paint as, not only will you want to do it justice, but he also has lots of trinkets, lucky his armour is black, which is much easier to use when painting over mistakes for a redo. The Dark Angels are a dour brotherhood, characterised by their deep commitment to millennia-old rituals, loyalty, discipline, and self-sufficiency. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom. You’ll also get two Dark Angels Primaris upgrade sprues for the aforementioned adornments and a transfer sheet with many decals to put on your models. Those that sided with Horus became know among loyalist Dark Angels as “The Fallen”, which itself sounds like an emo band. In this case, you absolutely could have — especially if you wanted to fill out the Inceptors and Intercessors.

When it comes to the Adeptus Astartes, or Space Marines, the Dark Angels are probably the most miserable.

If you really want to push it a little bit further I’d recommend a Company Ancient for 75 points + wargear.

Famous for their intractable gunlines, favoritism towards plasma weapons, and keeping some big secrets, I think we have a theme we can work with here to get to 2000 points.

Three Inceptors can take to the sky against aerial threats or to jump in and out of battle for some hit and fade tactics. If this was a BA box with a new BA sprue instead of DA I'd probably pick it up and build a new fancy squad of intercessors with the new bling even though I have plenty of the basic old starter set guys. A hobbyist, player, and collector of miniatures and games, Adam's current obsession are his Death Armies for Age of Sigmar, his Blood Angels and Tyranids for 40k, and his ever growing Arkham Horror: The Card Game Collection. Finally, I want to add something that’s going to give us better chance at cracking open armor at range. For flavor, we might sprinkle in a unit of Deathwing and Ravenwing each — but we’re not going to go hard in either direction. If you love Kroot, this is about as good as you can hope for, with the line getting a total revamp, even including the regular foot troops. This list is designed to allow a new player to dabble with those options without hard committing to either. None fight with more grim determination than the battle-brothers of the Dark Angels, and their renowned specialised companies – the Deathwing and the Ravenwing – are held in awe by their allies and enemies alike. On the plus side the Dark Angels look great, rocking dark green armour and cream robes create a distinct look for the chapter. We mainly cover Warhammer 40k, Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, Warmachine, Hordes, X-Wing, Infinity, Horus Heresy, and Star Wars Armada.
