Aside from the cottage, highlights of our visit included visits to two well-kept nearby swimming lakes (one with a flume, diving board and island; the other a family-friendly fishing spot. We found the peace and quiet that we wanted and were able to sit and read or watch tv in comfort. Our dogs were happy and loved the close proximity of woodland and beach.The surrounding countryside has many excellent vineyards and some fantastic cycling routes and mountain walks. I have personally eaten at a number of restaurants with my dog. I sat outside because I wasn’t sure my pooch would behave indoors. As it was, he was very well behaved. Outside, they had a wall-mounted bull ring that I would attach his lead to and extend the lead length so he could wander about for 2 or 3 metres. And we continued with our meal. Everyone was happy. My Wife and I stayed at Ty Beic for a last minute weekend away. Even with the very short notice we gave Karen, only a matter of hours, the apartment was gleaming for our arrival and Karen couldn't have been more welcoming. The apartment was furnished to a standard you'd expect of somewhere much mor e expensive, and the location is beautiful, perched above the Welsh countryside. Lists: Spacious light-filled apartment within a winery formerly occupied and with private heated pool – favourite properties. Located in the countryside but only 5 minute bicycle walk to restaurant or pub for the finest wine. I'd highly recommend Ty Beic for anyone looking for a lovely trip away; however if you're a cyclist then Ty Beic is truly unbeatable. The location is perfect for accessing some of the best road and mountain biking that the UK has to offer and in addition Ty Beic offers complimentary bike storage, a bicycle jet washer, laundry facilities and more cycling reading material in the apartment than you could get through in a whole Summer's holiday. This all came as a nice surprise during our trip as our itinerary consisted of a weekend's mountain biking at the local Marin Trail and Coed y Brenin.
