This is the Sherpa Mini Extruder, a ground up design developed by Anlin and the team at Annex Engineering. It's a dual geared hobbed filament extruder designed for use with any printer. It features a 50:10 or a 50:8 gear driven design to provide torque while being able to be near silent. You must perform your own tuning to get the best results.Update Cowling ducts to the improved ones from the V0.2r1 Release. Rapido Cowlings are using the old ducts for now. The groove-mount E3D V6 and Zodiac Dragonfly BMO also both share a main body, but you have to print the slide-in mount that goes with your hotend. Sailfin and HextrudORT are very similar designs that you may prefer in certain circumstances but they are less popular and you may need to design your own mount to use them. Even a decade later, homebrew 3D printing still doesn’t stop when it comes to mechanical improvements. These last few months have been especially kind to lightweight direct-drive extruders, and [lorinczroby’s] Orbiter Extruder might just set a paradigm for a new kind of direct drive extruder that’s especially lightweight. Attach the Mini-AfterSherpa to your X carriage with the M3×35mm bolts. Route the hotend wires to either side of the toolhead, and make sure not to crush them when you're tightening the M3 bolts. Sherpa Mini* is a compact and lightweight open source extruder. It’s using BMG components with a smaller NEMA 14 stepper motor. Due to its compact design and a smaller stepper it weights just 127g. Sherpa Mini uses BMG gears but due to different pinion gear on the NEMA 14 stepper has 5:1 rather than 3:1 gearing ratio. It’s an easy upgrade option for people who already have a BMG extruder: you need to get a NEMA 14 stepper and print a few parts.
