BUT very early in the book I saw a wonderful attitude that would transform us all if we adopted it . This is not for those who despise or denigrate the efforts of Christian evangelists who 'go out and get 'em ', because it is one womans story told in simple, faith-filled language.

This book is the thirty year story of a young English woman, Jackie Pullinger, who was led by God to Hong Kong and its infamous Walled City and who, despite many difficulties, discouragements and set-backs, was and is the conduit for an amazing work of the Holy Spirit in spreading faith in Jesus to drug addicts, prostitutes, pimps, pushers and Triad gang leaders. The coolest part about this book was seeing how Jackie lived out Biblical principles in every aspect of her life, truly embodying the concept of living by faith. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words. After 63 novels and a slew of short stories, omnibuses, audio dramas, and more – this is the End and the Death.

So many of these missionaries come across as superhuman in their biographies, but an autobiography allows room to be real. Jackie's story is told in her renowned book Chasing the Dragon and she still lives in Hong Kong and runs the St Stephen's Society. He is the center of everything, and Poon Siu Jeu (Jackie's Chinese name) continues to give him glory for everything that happens. She lived and worked in Kowloon's notorious 'Walled City' and by 1981 she had set up the St Stephen's Society, which provides rehabilitation homes for recovering drug addicts, prostitutes, and gang members.

Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. There is, however, running through this challenging book, a down to earth sense that a mission such as Jackie Pullinger's is not one of quick fixes by a God who is putting on a show for visiting (short term) missionaries. What hideous things come out of a culture in which demons are worshiped: children brought into the world by parents' greed so that they will serve them; children bought and sold or produced simply so the adult will have someone who will worship their memory when they're dead.

The Fellowship of the Ring, the first volume in the trilogy, tells of the fateful power of the One Ring. I wish that she included more of her internal struggles and failures, because it felt like she only included success stories and everything worked out perfectly for her (she kind of painted herself as a savior). This new compilation of her published work features pieces on why you should pursue purpose over passion, embrace negative thinking, see the wisdom in daily routine, and become aware of the cognitive biases that are creating the way you see your life. This bold volume outlines the laws of power in their unvarnished essence, synthesizing the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Carl von Clausewitz, and other infamous strategists. I've never experiences speaking in tongues before, but it gave her the power to pray continually, and I was amazed that EVERYONE who she converted was also able to speak in tongues. Peter Attia draws on the latest science to deliver innovative nutritional interventions, techniques for optimizing exercise and sleep, and tools for addressing emotional and mental health. In this wealth-inspiring listening journey, Rachel reveals the secrets of how to set goals, manage time wisely, build essential support systems, break free from financial constraints, and make savvy money decisions. Jackie’s story was quite incredible and loved reading about her ministry and life in the walled city, it was quite inspiring.

And as she spoke of Jesus Christ, brutal hoods were converted, prostitutes retired from their trade and heroin junkies found new power that freed them from the bondage of drug addiction. It is very inspirational and stirs you to get out of your comfort zone and do something meaningful for God; something outside the box, where you'll get to know God in a whole different way.Jackie presents it all in this book, the good and the bad, and at the end all I seem to be able to say is: GOD IS SO GOOD. It was super cool to hear about experiences from inside Hong Kong's walled city, something I'd never heard of before -- a city that hosted over 30,000 people within 6 acres, filled with prostitution, opium dens, and more (it was demolished in 1994).
