About this deal

Stand and deliver: Game in comfort for extended periods thanks to a new slim, tapered stand with easy height and tilt adjustability. The angled base provides sturdy support and a smaller footprint, allowing for more desktop space for additional gaming accessories. Hard drive retention: Hard drive retention is not available on models with a soldered hard drive, including XPS 9315 2in1, Chromebooks or Venue tablets, except the Venue 11 Pro. Other image adjustment tools include the standard brightness, contrast, sharpness, color temperature, and hue/saturation settings, but there are no gamma presets. This is expected from a monitor at this price range as implementing a decent local dimming solution would greatly increase its cost. So, some HDR content might look a bit better, some may not, but don’t buy this monitor solely for its HDR support. Some users don’t mind this over-saturation, some actually prefer it, and some absolutely hate it, but it’s definitely something you should keep in mind.

As a result, you get crisp details and text as well as plenty of screen real estate without any scaling necessary. For most users, it’s the pixel density sweet spot. However, they omitted one thing – an sRGB emulation mode, which would provide accurate colors for sRGB content. Image QualityAs there’s no sRGB clamp provided in the monitor’s OSD (On-Screen Display) settings, you won’t be able to restrict the color output to ~100% sRGB for a more accurate representation of sRGB content, unless you have a dedicated colorimeter. Terms Apply. Promotion ends 3 December 2023. Items are subject to availability. Max 5 units per customer. Noteworthy gaming features include Dark Stabilizer (improves visibility in darker games) and various pre-calibrated picture presets (FPS, MOBA/RTS, RPG, Sports, three customizable Game modes, and ComfortView with a low-blue light filter). The Extreme mode is too aggressive and introduces too much inverse ghosting (pixel overshoot). The Super Fast mode works much better as it prevents trailing behind fast-moving objects without adding overshoot across the entire refresh rate range. Designed with wellness in mind: Optimize eye comfort with ComfortView Plus—an always on, built-in low blue light screen that reduces blue light emissions while delivering excellent color.

See more details: See images with 1.77 times more details than Full HD with 2560x1440 resolution on this 27-inch QHD display. Light it up: A new uniquely designed downlight provides ambient illumination for gaming in low-light environments. Variable refresh rate allows the monitor to change its refresh rate according to GPU’s frame rate (Hz = FPS), which in turn entirely eliminates screen tearing and stuttering without noticeably affecting input lag as long as your FPS is within the VRR range. Below 48FPS, frames will be multiplied to keep tearing at bay (47FPS – 94Hz, etc).Consistent, vibrant colors: Get wide color coverage of 100% sRGB, 100% Rec.709 and 95% DCI-P3 and 1.07 billion color depth. In-Plane Switching technology: See consistent color and picture quality across a wide 178/178 degree viewing angle. Playing through various environments in Tomb Raider showed the S2721DGF’s prowess for brighter material. When moving through outdoor areas, the sunlight and other natural colors radiated from the screen.

Starting on the Windows desktop, it was clear that color is the S2721DGF’s strongest asset for SDR content. Thanks to a large and accurate DCI-P3 gamut with almost 93% coverage (as you'll see in our upcoming tests), every workday task was rendered in vivid hues. If you’re working on graphics and photos, you'll want to employ a color profile if you need to stay true to sRGB. The Dell S2721DGF has no option for that smaller gamut in its OSD. Video games compatible with FreeSync Premium Pro also get optimal HDR gamut and tone mapping as well as lower input lag. We tested the monitor with the PS5's new variable refresh rate feature and confirmed that it's not compatible, since the PS5 only supports HDMI Forum VRR.FreeSync works over both DisplayPort (48-165Hz) and HDMI (48-144Hz) variable refresh rate (VRR) range. You can also use it with the Xbox consoles, in which case the VRR range is 48-120Hz at 1440p. Detail and clarity are excellent though. Pixel density is an ideal 109 pixels per inch (ppi), so you’ll have no trouble making out small text or fine textures. Other panel-related specifications include the 178° wide viewing angles, dithered 10-bit color depth support for 1.07 billion colors, a peak brightness of 400-nits which is plenty, and a static contrast ratio of 1,000:1, which is standard for IPS displays.
