About this deal

A moral dilemma + a pacy plot = one gripping thriller. I stayed up far too late reading this one!' Louise Jenson Ed is now determined to discover and expose who the real Ryan is. Yes, he may have disliked Abbie’s other boyfriends in the past. I mean, no one is really good enough for Ed’s daughter. But this time it’s different. This time Ed sees true evil behind Ryan’s eyes!

If you’ve yet to read T.M. Logan’s The Catch book then you might well be a little surprised by the changes that have reportedly been made to the Collier family and their home in the gripping Channel 5 show. In the Channel 5 drama which starts on January 25, as per RadioTimes.com, the setting is now the coast of the South West of England where Ed is a fisherman. The thing I most enjoy about TM Logan books is that the mystery and suspense builds steadily through the majority of the book then towards the end, as more information comes to light, it hurtles towards an satisfying and unpredictable end. Every one of T.M Logan's books that I've read follows this pattern and it's this that keeps me wanting more. The reader isn't spoon fed, we're simply given snippets of information to piece together to create our own theories and conspiracies. The book will be adapted for the screen by Michael Crompton (The Holiday, Silent Witness, Safe House, Kidnap and Ransom) with Rachel Gesua, Suzi McIntosh and Trevor Eve executive producing for Projector Pictures and Herbert L. Kloiber and Olivia Pahl executive producing for Night Train Media.I honestly could not rate this any higher. Tim you have worked your magic again, I can't wait to read what's next! It’s refreshing to see a male protagonist who is not believed or taken seriously when warning others about the danger they face – which often mirrors our own real-life experiences – even if it does add an extra layer of tension and disbelief as readers are forced to question whether or not Ed is right in his assumptions about Ryan or if he’s going mad with paranoia. This part is usually filled by a ‘neurotic woman’ who is convinced she is correct. Here we see it filled by a man who thinks he is losing his mind instead! Seeing Ed's slow obsession really sets up the first half of the novel, his adamant that theres something not quite right with Ryan leads him into some awkward situations!

Ultimately, we'll just have to wait and see as The Catch show lands how many of the same plot-threads start to emerge building to episode 4 or whether things do start to go in a different direction. We can't wait! How to watch The CatchThe author did an excellent job in keeping me on my toes, and uncertain if Ed was losing his grasp on reality or if Ryan was indeed not quite the catch everyone thought he was. This was an addictive read that I raced through.
