About this deal

Sugarpaste is the most popular icing for covering whole cakes. It gives a lovely smooth finish as shown with this Baby Elephant Cake using our Pastel Green, Baby Pink, White, Pastel Yellow, Grey and Baby Blue Icing (now that was a mouthful!). Using with cutters Though the two are both used in cake decorating, sugar paste differs from fondant icing in that it hardens, rather than retaining a soft consistency, making it ideal for creating solid, sculpted decorations that can later be attached to a cake by other means. By contrast, the soft and malleable qualities of fondant icing make it softer and more ideal for covering cakes entirely. Put a metallic bowl over a panwithwater and put on the heat.Stir until the gelatine is dissolved. Add the glucose, glycerin and shortening, stirring until well blended and runny.Don not let it boil. I bought some but by the time I decided to make the fondant, I used “fytini” to make some pie crust. it may have been developed by one our main competitors, but The Sugar Paste is an excellent sugar paste so we're delighted to also offer this brand to Cake Stuff customers

Sugar paste is produced both commercially and domestically, with commercial sugar paste holding a number of advantages that homemade sugar paste does not; commercial varieties of sugar paste can be stored for up to a year, is typically easier to manipulate and shape than homemade varieties, and can be bought in a pure-white colour, which is difficult to recreate at home. Heat the shortening in a microwave oven at full power for 30-40 seconds or until thoroughly melted. Set aside. If your fondant feels very firm after standing overnight, knead it well or microwave on full power for 10-second intervals until it feels soft enough to roll out. Adjust Color if Needed Please have a good browse - we'll be adding more colours and flavours of sugarpasteover the coming months but, meantime, please try them and let us know your opinion.

Satinara Luxury Sugar Paste

could it really be as good as Couture, Massa Ticino,or SmartFlex?... there's only one way to find out !

If you would like to add colour to this Sugar Paste, then you can use food colouring gel or dust. It is recommended that you don’t add liquid food colouring as this could alter the texture of the paste.Grease the gloves or your hands with a little bit of shortening.Take some paste and put it on a greased surface and add food colouring.Add the colouring gradually and knead until the colour you desire is achieved.Place each coloured fondant in a plastic bag.Wash the gloves and surface before starting with a new colour. Spread shortening over the ball of fondant and cover with plastic wrap. Place it in a Ziploc bag and let stand overnight. Is the color too light? There’s an easy fix — just knead in some more food coloring. (You can also wait until this step to add food coloring to the sugar paste in the first place — it will work just fine.) Roll and Drape
