About this deal

TRW stood for “Thompson Ramo Wooldridge," and it was an American corporation that dealt with a lot of things, including automotive. This is a well-known brand that provides high-quality brake pads. Ceramic brake pads are great as they are constructed to be able to endure high temperatures, without much heat fade. They also make sure your brakes do not produce as much dust. We understand the importance of friction material in front and rear brake pads. Making the friction material compound in-house allows us to find the perfect combination of raw materials from rubber to graphite, generating the safest brake pad performance across all conditions. Disc brakes were only introduced in commercial vehicles in the 1980s, with Renault being the first manufacturer to upgrade from the traditional drum and shoe braking system. With disc brakes needing high quality brake pads, this development has seen a whole host of opportunities open up for manufacturers with TRW at the forefront of all brake pad development. Whichever brand you choose, make sure to get your new pads and rotors installed by a professional mechanic to ensure proper function and safety.

Our scorching techniques heat brake pads to 600-700 oC to reduce bedding-in time and initial fading To save energy and reduce CO2 emissions, we use an advanced heat plate scorching system rather than traditional flame scorching – a practice which is now an original equipment (OE) standard. Other materials to look out for are aluminium coated copper conductors, which offer excellent conductivity and resistance to corrosion. Copper clad aluminium on the other hand is markedly inferior in almost every measure with the exception of cost, and is best avoided if you’d like to be able to rely on your jumper cables when the time comes to use them. Silicon rubber is also a common insulator type, which is wonderfully flexible however offers little mechanical protection for the conductors, which means they are easily pierced or torn if treated poorly or exposed to rugged conditions. We are the only IAM braking manufacturer to develop our own testing hardware and software. We test our True Originals products in the factory and on the road, including Alpine tests, high performance testing and hill holds.

Innovative COTEC-coated brake pads enhance braking system safety – from the moment your customers drive away from your workshop.

Our brake pads and discs are tested in our NVH (noise vibration harshness) laboratories and on the road. This supports the noiseless function of brakes. To eliminate noise we use a glass fiber reinforced phenolic shims or in more noise sensitive applications stainless steel shims with different combination of damping materials. Only a specific combination ensures an NVH free brake system. TRW pads and discs to work quiet together. Castings are subject to stringent safety tests and controls before being released for machining. These close tolerances provide hassle-free fitting for you, and comfortable performance for your customer. Because TRW manufactures every major part of the braking system, we can achieve the best design and integration of each component for easy, accurate fitting

TRW introduced one of the first environmentally-friendly brake pad programme for passenger cars in Europe, which means we also never use harmful materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium, antimony, brass or molybdenum. Remanufacturing uses just a fraction of the energy and CO 2 required to make brand new calipers – saving over 1,500 tonnes of CO 2 a year

The TRW Range

However, if you are looking for a replacement for your OEM pads or rotors, TRW is a great option that won’t break the bank.

Additionally, Brembo offers a wide variety of brake pads and rotors specifically designed for performance cars. Because we produce every type of vehicle safety solution, no one knows better than we do how they work together to protect the passengers inside. We design and build our discs to be a balanced part of the braking dynamic. That’s why choosing TRW Aftermarket means the most efficient fit for you, best quality for your customer, and the best results for your business. These days it is hard to keep up with who makes what now. There are many acquisitions, Brands changing OM due to costs, performance, and supply. Price As a leader among braking system providers, we pride ourselves on delivering the very highest standards across all of our car brake pads. We do this by ensuring: We use deep moulding technology to produce a more consistent density and porosity – for your customers this means more comfortable journeys, thanks to reduced judder and noise

Brake Calipers

TRW brake pads offer more safety, wider coverage and easier fitting. Our new friction coating, called COTEC, can reduce stopping distances on new pads – and we’re making it standard. Independent tests have proven that replacing the brake pads with COTEC pads can cut stopping distances by up to 7 metres during bedding in. That’s a difference that could save a life. And that’s why we’re making it standard. Plus, we’ll give you all the fitting accessories you need to fit brake pads fast. On top of that, we’ve developed the range to cover 98% of the European vehicle parc, which means that you can apply new front or rear brake pads to almost any vehicle. Our product development team works hard to ensure that we’re leading in the changes the market needs. For example, our innovative Electric Blue range is growing fast to meet increasing demands from the electric and hybrid vehicle market.
