About this deal

Best For: Those with a higher budget, those willing to do a little work to really hide their bins away Bin Covers / Vinyls This ‘rustic’ looking triple wheelie bin screen by Selections is the perfect way to disguise your wheelie bin and make it look attractive at the same time while helping to keep out unwanted visitors such as rodents, dogs and foxes. Even if you’re a dab hand at DIY, there are some things we don’t want to spend our precious free time on – and wheelie bin storage might just be one of them. This hand-woven willow screen takes very little time (we’re talking 5 – 15 minutes) to put together. It’s also, therefore, a great option for people who aren’t so confident with their DIY skills as well. Opening/Hinges: For those shopping for screens you will find options that have openings or ‘gates' that allow you to take bins out. In the case of screens that have ‘gates' ensure that there are sturdy hinges since you're likely to be opening and closing them a lot! It's not impossible to erect a screen on concrete but it's can be difficult without a wall to hold it against, so that might be something to think about.

When it comes to throwing rubbish away, you only need to open the lid to the storage unit, and the wheelie bin lids will open simultaneously because they are connected together with a chain. Therefore, there’s actually no need to touch the wheelie bin itself, and you can prop the lid open as well, leaving you with two hands free to deal with the rubbish. Probably the most common option is to use a bin screen. A screen will usually be wooden (or perhaps raffia-style), will be anchored into the ground in some way (meaning they can't be installed on concrete, unfortunately), and will hide your bins from sight. This is the more expensive of the two options and requires a bit more work on your part, but a good screen can really disguise those bins.In addition to storing your dustbin, and/or other miscellaneous items, some wheelie bin storage units have sections designed for keeping your recycling boxes. Given that recycling boxes aren’t much better on the attractiveness scale than wheelie bins, it’s great to have somewhere to hide them away too. You’ll want to choose a bin store that is big enough for the number of bins/items that you want to conceal (but that also stores them correctly for your needs).

Even if you’ve only got one wheelie bin to deal with, the weather-resistant finish of this unit actually makes it very watertight, so you can even store other items in it if you want to. All the timbers used are ‘pressure’ tested against fungal and wood rot. This makes this unit totally maintenance free, so you can basically install it and forget it. The store has been manufactured from smooth-planed timber board cladding and sturdy framing for a robust build. The screens are made from 4 separate woven willow panels which are connected by ‘easy to attach hooks’ so they can be easily removed if necessary. On top of this, since we produce our own bin stores, so we know the market well and see these kinds of products every day. Many hinged lids come with a chain that can be attached to the wheelie bin lid. This is a great design feature because when you open the lid of the unit, the lid of the bin will open simultaneously. We didn’t like the fact that the manufacturers didn’t provide a floor for this unit, which considering the other excellent feature was a little short-sighted we feel. However, this can be easily remedied by cutting to size a piece of sheet marine ply or sheet metal. Due to its construction materials the cabinet requires no maintenance year on year. So once erected this wheelie bin storage unit can be left and admired, as it does not look out of place in any garden.
