These are designed to be delivered in2-4 hours (4-6 hours for the Diploma) depending upon your style of delivery and the number of activities you carry out with your learners (guidance is given).

See the list below for the assignment briefs which I have produced for the most popular optional units. If you choose wisely, the requirements of some optional units are naturally embedded within the mandatory units' content (therefore not a lot of additional teaching should be required). For example: Develop and prepare resources for learning and development; occur because a learner doesn't follow the ground rules or they are bored. For example, they send messages via their

You will need to decide which are appropriate for your learners at the relevant level and credit value. Assessment also provides your learners with an opportunity to demonstrate what progress they have made and what they have learnt so far. If you don’t plan for and carry out any assessment with your learners, you will not know how well, or what they have learnt.

Passing Assessments for the Certificate in Education and Training (see below)is a companion text to this title. It gives guidance regarding achieving each of the assessment criteria of the five mandatory units. Information is also given regarding Ofsted, teaching observations, study skills and the minimum core. The book helps learners to understand the requirements of the qualification and to evidence their achievement towards the three main units and the micro-teach session. However, examples are given within the questions to help assessors and learners to understandwhat is being asked. All questions are cross-referenced to each unit's assessment criteria and are written in an easy to understand way. All assignments are electronic and are provided in Word for you to amend as you wish. You may need to agree them beforehand with your awarding organisation. In comparison with General Qualifications, including GCSEs and A levels, CASLO qualifications are documented less comprehensively, researched less thoroughly, and theorised less well. Although individual assessment organisations (AOs) may know how their qualifications work, knowledge of this sort is not easy to access. Where information has been made available, i.e. in qualification specifications, handbooks, and suchlike, this has tended to be at a very practical level. The principles underpinning the effective operation of CASLO qualifications, especially in relation to quality assurance, appear never to have been articulated. You should refer to the learning outcomes and assessment criteriaof the relevant qualifications to ensure all aspects have been covered prior to assessment.
