About this deal

The successor of the popular Herp Nursery incubator also uses the peltier technology which enables the device to cool and to heat its interior. This allows its use as incubator for reptile eggs but also for hibernating reptiles. The temperature area is approximately 5 to 60C but is dependant from the surrounding temperature. The digital thermostat allows setting the temperature in 1C steps. Please note that the displayed temperature can vary a little from the actual temperature inside the device.

complaints on temperature variations with the Herp Nursery II… That‘s due to the technical design and is described in the user manual. However, it has no impact on the breeding results since what matters here is the temperature of the breeding substrate, where the variations in temperature are less than 0.5°C. Generally it should be considered to what the breeding temperature recommendations relate, because the temperature inside the breeding substrate will always be lower than the breeding rooms temperature. Consequently, if the temperature recommendation refers to the temperature of the substrate, the device has to be set to a higher temperature. We recommend to always monitoring the temperature with a separate thermometer since every incubator will show temperature variations in the breeding room, which have an impact on the temperature of the breeding substrate. Due to its construction, the Herp Nursery II has a temperature variation from the bottom (lowest) to the top (highest) of about 4°C. With 32°C in the upper area you‘ll get about 28°C in the lower area. This effect can be used to breed different species or to selectively breed for a certain sex. With Greek Tortoises for example, you can expect more females at approx. 32°C and more malesReptile incubators are a bit like mini-fridges, however, they have a heated interior instead of a cooled one. As reptile eggs are developing they must be kept at a constant temperature, normally provided by a nest and their parent’s body heat in the wild. Reptile incubators can be set to any temperature to house whatever eggs you need to incubate. Why should I buy reptile incubators? at approx. 29°C. By placing the breeding tubs in different shelves inside the Herp Nursery II it is possible breeding your own desired sex ratio without the need for a second incubator! Temperature variations also exist in the widely used polystyrene area-breeders, but there is less of a clear pattern in the variations. Thus, contrary to the Herp Nursery II, it is nearly impossible to selectively different temperature requirements or breed for specific sexes and all in one device! Due to the temperature gradient, the displayed temperature is only a guideline and we recommend monitoring the temperature in the different parts with a separate thermometer. The Herp Nursery II prevents the loss of eggs from overheating as it will automatically cool to keep the set temperature. Please note that due to the used technology the device has a certain temperature deviation. It is not a professional incubator which will keep the set temperature by the 0,1C but an entry model for less delicate eggs.

Our reptile incubator range can be broken into the incubators themselves and incubator trays. Incubators are the large pieces of hardware used to perform incubation. Incubator trays are special boxes that have been designed to hold eggs during incubation. What should I look for? Based on the success of the Herp Nursery 1, this model is larger so you can fit more or simply bigger eggs inside, keeping the warm until they begin to hatch. A marked improvement over other models, the built-in thermostat also allows automatic cooling too, preventing the eggs from overheating, and therefore protecting them from not just low temperature, but high ones too. Because of this wide temperature range (adjusted by you in increments of 1°C), it can also be used for hibernating reptiles due to the good ventilation. This comes with a 2 year guarantee. If you are looking to raise baby reptiles, the only way is with a reptile incubator. While a parent reptile can warm its eggs in captivity, there is a much higher chance that the development of the eggs will fail. Reptile incubators help eggs to develop as fast and as fully as possible. What are the main types of reptile incubators?
