plot and writing and just everything about how this is structured feels really juvenile. if this is YA it's like starter YA, barely out of middle grade. that's not necessarily bad but i expected something less immature. this point does get better in the last 25% though. Anyway I hope he will have a bigger role in the future. I actually think he and Ev can have a really nice friendship if given the chance.
