About this deal

Reduction of rotor speed is the answer. Put in a pair of 12/20 gears at the engines and flip the last pair of 12/20 gears in the gearbox as shown here and you should be safe: LEGO® introduced the first Technic sets in 1977 when it named this category Technic Sets. In 1982, LEGO® changed the name to LEGO® Technic. From the beginning, Technic creations had electric motors that have evolved over the years. In 2007 LEGO® introduced the Power Functions system, consisting of 2 motors, two IR receivers, remote control and battery box. List of all existing parts: The XML code is in this link. https://pastebin.com/a8TaMR9m. Credit to @Alitai. The list doesnt not contain the new parts and the parts in the new color listed in the previous question.

I would laugh if Lego admitted it was the fault in the set as a reason to recall and that they would 're-release' the set with Lego supplying the parts to remedy the problem. The Lego distributor in Vietnam put the set on the shelf early. I bought it. I paid a photocopy shop to have it scanned. On the contrary, I’m in love with the new 5×13 curved panels. The way they fit on top of the hull makes me think that it was designed with this model. Accompanied by a couple of tiny panels in orange, this whole section is a feast for the eye. The V-22 Osprey is the world's first tilt rotor aircraft, capable of both vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), and short takeoff and landing (STOL). We appreciate that some fans who were looking forward to this set may be disappointed, but we believe it’s important to ensure that we uphold our brand values.

Whatever the reason, you'd have thought it would have become apparent much earlier in its design lifecycle. I will not be discussing its suitability as a LEGO model, or the company's decision to cancel it at the last minute in this article. What this list has: All existing parts with the exact colors in the official part list above, and all the new parts and parts with new color listed in the previous question but in different colors.

The lower one on the other side raises and lowers the wheels, which when retracted, fit neatly into the body. Yeah but with your fix the middle gears have no end-stop and this here can occur also leading to gear failure: In fact Lego has exposed inconsistencies in their practices, not due to fictional or historical vehicles, but because they’ve already produced several modern military aircraft sets. Anyone pointing out that those were not licensed, is ignoring the fact that Lego didn’t quote the licensing deal contributing to the cancellation. In fact, what they did previously was the same as this time – they themed them as something different. We will never know whether the set was cancelled due to external pressure, or because of this flaw."Some steps later, the gearbox is complete and connected to the motor. It includes four gear shifters, which makes it similar to the one used in 42042 Crawler Crane. However, unlike the 42042’s gearbox, V-22’s is an incredibly compact structure. Note that there are hardly any connectors and extensions. This section is a pure mix of liftarms, gears, and shifters; it’s an outstanding design. I understand people who were looking forward to this being upset. But the whole “go woke go broke” sentiment is nonsense. This set really is an anomaly. Anyone who has worked for Lego or watched a documentary or two would know that Lego has always opposed making sets of military assets. They’ve made exceptions for historically significant air craft from generations ago, and they also have IPs like Star Wars with fictional, fantastical, and sanitized forms of warfare or violence. They’ve toed the line with some sets that are clearly based on actual military hardware, though modified and depicted in non-military roles. Instead of ports C and D, there are a couple of switches. You can insert a cross axle either from a side or on the top to control a motor, but you can’t push one long axle through both switches. The switches’ positions are perfect for further integration of the device: imagine using another motor, a linear actuator, or a pneumatic cylinder to turn a switch to activate another motor connected to this hub. I would love to see a set featuring both types of hubs for even more complicated functionality.

Just to add if it was cancelled because they can't make real military aircraft what were the Fokker Dr1 triplane and Sopwith Camel I have hanging from my ceiling?!" Why would a set that is fundamentally flawed and doesn't actually work ever increase in value? What value does a sealed box of LEGO that won't be built actually have? I honestly don't understand..." Here is the official statement, confirming that following yesterday’s news, the set is indeed cancelled:

On July 21, 2020, LEGO announced that the upcoming LEGO Technic V-22 Osprey had been cancelled. Set number 42113 was an officially licensed model of the Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft used by the US Navy, Marines, Air Force and Japanese… It's the white part on the underside of the wing. You have two pins so there isn't a hard connection between the rotors and the engine and are only powered by friction." There is also a real life white-red color scheme for the Osprey. This is the first flight (maiden flight) of the Osprey. In recent years, LEGO has limited the scope of their military restriction to modern military vehicles. This allowed them to create sets based on historic military vehicles like the WWI-era Sopwith Camel biplane and Fokker Dr.1 triplane. This model was officially cancelled by LEGO just prior to release. However, despite being officially "unreleased", a significant number of sets were released to retailers and many of these were ultimately sold.

This could be the REAL reason it was recalled and that Lego decided (2 weeks prior to release) to use the military connotations as an excuse to hide the real truth. I find it hard to see why this was the reason - Lego have a history of themed sets with military connotations as well as other 'adult' themes - James Bond uses guns and sleeps with women and still the DB5 was released. V-22 Osprey model fills the gap: here comes a simple hub with two ports and two physical switches. The new simple hub has no sensors onboard and no Bluetooth support, so you can’t control it using a smart device. From a functional standpoint, the smart hub is similar to a combination of the Power Function regular battery box and an IR receiver, while the new simple hub is practically just a battery box with two switches. Physically, both hubs are identical. However, the simple one has only two ports and a LED indicator instead of a button on top. Can someone tell me how long it takes Lego from initial design to general release? It seems baffling that they didn’t spot the serious flaws and that the rotors touch the floor in plane mode...! " No matter how you display the V-22, it looks stunning from any angle. The top, the sides, and even the bottom are decorated with panels, so there no gears or axles exposed. I wonder why they used double cross connectors in light gray instead of dark gray. The piece can be found in dark gray in several other sets available today. A bunch of light gray connectors here and there ruins the color scheme a little bit. It isn’t until you put all the pieces together you realize how massive the model is. The span of the rotors is impressive, and the hull is longer than it what it looks like on the box. Finally, it’s not another car, crane, or excavator; the model looks fresh and unusual for an official set.Saying that its because the Osprey is a war machine is just stupid. Here is the simple reason why. Go take a look at Set 60020. That's a V-22 Osprey. An Osprey has been done before. The reddit diagram is interesting, seems which ever function is chosen the transmission needs to go through those middle three gears hence likely to hit the limit of the undercarriage or rear door opening eventually, as well as rotating blades hitting the ground either of which cannot be good. As well as a redesign of the gear box needed, I just don't understand why there are no 24 white clutch gears anywhere to protect the motor and other gears when extremes are reached? Costco Online UK Limited, UK Home Office, Hartspring Lane, Watford, Hertfordshire, WD25 8JS. Registered in England and Wales No. 8055444 But some LEGO fans defend the color problem as not being a problem. I know Technic is a functionality toy but you have to respect the fans that are into LEGO for the looks of a car, Architecture or a building that in lately is made with disturbing difference in colors.
