About this deal
A proper cleanse with an oil-free makeup remover is a must. Lashes with oil, dirt or makeup on them will not glue down properly. Glue them Now there isn't much with my lower lashes until you actually coat them with the mascara and think, gee I do have something there. great for me with short lashes I bought this in the Rewards Room as it looked interesting and I just wanted to see how it actually worked.
The little teeth act like a comb, so when you remove it, it takes any clumps with it. "Glide the teeth through the lashes when the mascara is still wet," Phillips suggests. Absolutely brilliant. Why have I been struggling, holding my breath (usually to no avail), when I could've just utilized these training wheels the whole time? Sheesh. It may look a bit confusing, but fear not — it's so very simple to use. Phillips also mentions that the Lash Guard is designed for all eye shapes and sizes. Now for the bigger test of applying to my upper lashes. Once I got the guard in position, I have no idea where my short, light eyelashes are so I just swiped the mascara on which does hit the lash guard. I gently removed the guard gently away from my eye and OMG...mascara on my lashes and no smears or smudges on my eye shadow. Guards usually come in small, medium and large, but they can also be cut to shape to fit all the different eye shapes. So it’s best to opt for the small lash guards for short lashes, as the smaller the size, the more effective the lift. Applicator When it comes to lashes, not only would I never attempt to apply mascara in a taxi, I've always been a lash curler and lash comb girl. They're the two accomplices that allow me to create the eye looks I want, which always involve brushed-up brows and lengthened, darkened, separated lashes — top and bottom. I may switch up my eye shadow and liner, but my lashes and brows must always be on point, which is not as simple as it sounds.
Lashes that don’t make it up onto the pad, perhaps because they are too short, will not lift, leaving your client with some eyelash strands lifted and some not. Short and straight eyelashes Placing a layer of glue on the silicone pad and using a lash applicator, lashes are gently pulled onto the pad and should remain in place for the entire treatment. This way, your client can avoid disappointment if their eyelashes are too short for the lash lift treatment. Perhaps your client may book in for lash extensions or party lashes instead.
After every use, I did wipe the lash guard with some of my alcohol free make-up remover which they do suggest. As for my mascara game, my hands are only so steady. Also, mascara brushes are a wild card, and as someone with small eyes and short lashes, using one of those big, fat, sculptural mascara wands is like trying to brush a cat with a baguette — it makes no sense. But sometimes your favorite mascara formula will come in an inconvenient vehicle. Consultations are necessary if you are confused about getting an LVL lash lift on short lashes. Before any lash lift, every client requires an allergy test, even if they have used dye before, so this is a perfect opportunity to seek advice from your therapist. This is where Tweezerman's Lash Guard saves the day. Makeup artist Mary Phillips has some pointers on the proper way to utilize it: "You have to position the tool close to the eye and align the edge with the top lash line," she advises. I position it over my eyelid with my eyeball in the center cutout then swipe my mascara on my lashes — really globbing it on with no smeary consequences.

On another good note, you can be assured that if your client comes in after their first treatment at 6-8 weeks because the hairs have already been lifted, the treatment will be much easier! Smaller lashes are harder to work with and significantly harder if your client’s eyelashes have no curl, but it can be done. For people that do have difficulties with applying mascara after applying eyeshadow, I would highly recommend this cute little product. Something that I can never do is put my eye shadows on and then finish with mascara because having such short, sparse, light eyelashes, majority of the mascara ends up on the eye shadow and then disaster hits. It's been that way since my teens so it's always mascara first for me. I will admit I am now nearly 65 too so am totally jealous when I see videos of people applying their mascara after applying their eye shadows.
