The HT line of compacts is no exception and consists of 6 low cost/cheap compact binoculars all of which have a the typical reverse porro prism shape used by many, many compacts. A couple of people we've spoken to have actually said they'd forgo optical quality for the unbeatable portability of these binoculars. So unless you subject them to some extreme forces, it should be more than fine in terms of strength. They don't let enough light in for enjoyable stargazing but provide decent views of the moon and its craters for a compact binocular. Never would be my first choice in an only pair of binos but I find myself taking them out often when I don't want something major around my neck. I mean they look and indeed feel far, far more expensive than they are, their eye-relief, close focus and field of view, whilst not class leading are far from being deal breakers. Recently updated with a brand new body the Taiga successfully combines a sophisticated outer design with excellent optical performance. Firstly when looking through them, the view to me looked no more magnified than that of my 10x controls.
