About this deal

And there’s plenty more mod footwear available in our Ikon Original shoes collection to take a look at.

I ponder if the white jeans was part of the band look then. I have always thought they stamped their MOD allegiance with this sleeve. Now I wanted to draw attention to the styles because we call ourselves MOD Shoes. And I think that all the above styles fit in with the very “broad church” that we call MOD. We sell loads of loafers, which started making me think, in terms of numbers of people, are there more MODS of one type than another? Brogues – With intricate detail and available in a range of colours, these brogues are a stylish choice for any outfit. This iconic footwear has been popular long since the days of Northern Soul and it shows no sign of slowing down. The first line of their 1984 single My Ever Changing Moods with its Isley Brothers soul-funk groove was another big hit (UK No 5), including for the first time the US where it reached top 30 – Weller’s highest single chart position there; before or since. The success of the single meant that their debut album Café Bleu released in March was renamed after the single in the US.What am I trying to get at here? My main aim is really just trying to think what should we be trying to find for our customers. It is ok for me to think they are smart and never sell a pair, whereas others sell loads! In terms of MOD I think it is the dandy look that came in the later sixties, as some mods went ‘dandy’ pre hippy look, whilst the rest went Hard Mod / Skinhead. Classic Carnaby Street from The Troggs The shoe is still available now, Ikon make one and there are others on the net. The Ikon is pretty close to the Jam shoe, but not quite the same, the white carries around the shoe.

We have done these with the holes in the front. There is a slight change at the top of the vamp, this has been done because to accommodate the foot better, and provide more lasting comfort. So maybe you are starting to think that I just think everything looks dated, well I suppose most of them do, there is a but coming though. What I am trying to say is that there are many reasons why we buy and wear shoes, and making a statement is maybe just one of them. The Dandy Mod, will have exaggerated Chelsea boot look, possibly in white, or maybe a two colour brogue. The look is very regency, and Brian Jones of the Stones pulled it off to a T. Having strived so hard to get to number one though, Weller wasn’t prepared to give up on The Jam without a fight. All those early gigs to half empty rooms, the transit van tour years, the occasional critical mauling, the lost period between Modern World and subsequent triumphant return of All Mod Cons before honing their sound and image until its peak with Going Underground in both sound and vision. For males and females, every pair in this collection is made from the highest quality materials and are embossed with the famous Ikon Originals logo. Wear them with pride to any occasion, whether it be a wedding, a night in the bar, or on a Northern Soul dancefloor. So does a two colour shoe work, yes I think it does, DNA groove do some really cool shoes with a leather and suede combination, so the effect is more subtle. Not for everyone, but i like these with jeans. When it comes to retro mod shoes and skinhead boots, Mazeys have you more than covered with a range of unique and stylish range of mod footwear. Whether you are looking for something more sophisticated (you can perhaps look to a classic pair of Brogues) or whether it is something more casual such as our quality range of monkey boots, loafers, and desert boots.
