Overview

During the conflict, O'Shovah authored the Book of the Beast, which detailed Ork psychology and doctrine. [4e] Break with the Ethereals Now you might think this was an entirely bad tale, but no. When you ignore the canon and character problems to focus upon the plot you can see talented writing. Elements both major and minor are introduced long before they come into play in a very fluid manner, both keeping up the novella’s fast pace and allowing for rapid development. Furthermore the book is extremely tightly and well-structured in how each event builds and flows into one another, creating the sense of a much greater story than would usually be allowed for such a small number of words. Unfortunately neither of these mean much when the novella’s content has so many problems, leaving the infrequent battle scenes only aspects to truly appreciate. However, Shadowsun’s utility goes far, far beyond simply “buff big unit, big unit kill”; she brings a ton to the table that mustn’t be overlooked if you are to understand why it is she’s so powerful, so let’s spend some time there as well. There is, of course, her aura of rerolling 1s- with her drone active and the Tau sept trait it is a full 12″ radius, or in other words covering a pretty significant fraction of the entire battlefield. While Farsight Enclaves armies may have the advantage in raw number of Commanders, Shadowsun can do the job of at least two Commanders by herself, and very often more than that. She can continuously ensure that essentially every unit in your army is going to get its rerolls, and she frees up any other Commanders you might take to maneuver as desired or needed, helping to cover more distant parts of the battlefield or bring their guns to bear on an alternative target. Amid these difficulties, it became apparent to the Tau that Prefectia would not fall in a lightning-fast blitz as they had hoped. An embarrassment for Shadowsun took place when Aun'va himself appeared on the front to inspire his troops, while Raven Guard Chapter Master Corvin Severax arrived to personally finish the fight. Shadowsun's stare was on the wane, the war was becoming prolonged and she was constantly on the move to escape her White Scars and Raven Guard pursuers. [1f]

[4d]When I apply the basing paste I sculpt the waves as the water effects I use are thin so the underlying shape will show through. I am aware that there are products for sculpting waves but for these small ones it works pretty well and is pretty low effort. In 813.M41, at Nemesor Zahndrekh's instruction, the Necron armies of the Tomb World of Gidrim invaded the T'au world of Cano'var, routing the planetary defenders after two solar weeks of campaigning. The Necron victory proved short-lived, however. A demi-company of White Scars, led by Kor'sarro Khan, arrived on Cano'var, pursuing a now-obsolete punitive mission against the previous T'au inhabitants. Ethereal [5 PL, -1CP, 85pts]: 2.
