About this deal

As with all appliances we review, we put the v6 through a series of rigorous tests to assess both performance and usability. Our tests are intended to mimic the characteristics of common household debris, including Fruity Cheerios, a sand and sawdust blend to simulate fine particulate debris, pet hair, and human hair, which we took from a set of hair extensions. We performed each test three times on three different surfaces, which included low-pile carpet, mid-pile carpet, and hardwood/laminate floors. We also conducted a torture test that involved bobby pins and nuts. If anything, Dyson is a little conservative in its run-time claims and we managed over 21 minutes using just the crevice and brush tool, dropping to a reasonable seven minutes in max power mode. When the time comes to empty your bin, all you need to do is press a single button to get rid of all the dirt at once. That means you spend less time and energy on cleaning up after yourself. There’s even a counter-rotating brushincluded in the Dyson Ball Animal kit to make sure that you can capture hard ground-in dust on upholstery and carpets, too.

This unique model is one of the best Dyson for carpet vacuums we’ve seen, with patented Root Cyclone technology that helps to prevent unnecessary loss of suction. There’s also a five-year guaranteeincluded to give you peace of mind in your investment. All that, and you get the unique Dyson ball animal technology that makes upright vacuums from this provider so easy to use. Although Dyson is no longer producing new corded vacuums, several of its plug-in models are still available on second hand market places. It's also worth remembering that having multiple accessories can be more of a hindrance than a help, especially when storing them, which is another reason not to splash out on a model with expensive extras unless you're sure you need them. For even smaller detail cleaning jobs, a combined standard nozzle/dusting brush and long crevice tool are supplied too. All of the tools can be used on the handheld unit or on the extension tube and, as we have come to expect from Dyson, everything clips together easily. You would expect the prices of older vacuums to go down rather than up, but we've found that some Dysons end up being sold for a price that well exceeds the original amount – even several years after they were launched.

If the main direct-drive head is a little too large for smaller carpet jobs, no problem. The V6 Absolute also comes with the range’s motorised mini turbobrush head, ideal for steps, stairs and smaller cleaning tasks like the sofa. Robot Vacuums – Dyson robot vacuums have the most powerful suction of any robot vacuum. It includes the patented Dyson cyclone technology, the Dyson digital motor and the 360 degree vision system. While Dyson suggests the direct-drive head is great for both carpets and had floors, the dedicated hard floor tool supplied with the Absolute is our weapon of choice for tiles, parquet and laminates. There are plenty of reasons why this manufacturer is one of the best on the market for home-cleaning products. Dyson offers a wide range of different vacuum types to choose from. Hence, whether you’re looking for full home cleaning, in-car cleaning, or lightweight upholstery hoovering, you’ll find something to suit you. If you own a cordless model, press the red wand release button and pull the wand away from the dust container and then firmly press the red dust container release button to release the dirt. In general, upright models are easier to store (because there's no trailing hose) and better at cleaning pet hair, but they can be tiring to push on carpets. On the other hand, cylinder vacuums are more manoeuvrable (particularly on stairs) and are often quieter, but they're not so good for covering large areas.

This state-of-the-art cleaner is best for deep-cleaning carpets, capturing hair and dust that’s been embedded deep down into the fibres of your rugs and upholstery. The powerful suction capacity combined with the direct-drive motorhead from Dyson means that the results you’ll get from the V7 are second to none. Based on historical pricing data, we think these prices represent genuinely good savings on some of Dyson's most popular cordless models: Its corded models ride on a ball and castors instead of wheels, which allows them to pivot and change direction more easily. While this doesn't give you as much manoeuvrability as a top-of-the-range cordless vacuum, it sets them apart from most corded competitors. Fans – Dyson fans have no blade and choppy air, they are also safe, easy to clean, features a sleep timer and comes with a remote control. Again, this depends on which model you own. But there are three areas that every Dyson owner should pay close attention to:

a 'hygienic' dirt ejector, allowing you to empty the dust container without getting your hands grubby.

This continuous innovation has placed Dyson in an unwavering spot as one of the top brands for cleaning in the UK, and even around the world, too. Of course, just because you know which brand you want to buy from, doesn’t mean that you’ll be sure about the kind of vacuum cleaner you want to invest in. As a specialist in vacuum cleaner design, Dyson has tried its hand at producing everything from incredible upright cleaners to lightweight cordless models and even canister units. Filters Most newer models have a single filter at the very top of the vacuum. They should be unscrewed and rinsed with warm water once a month – it's important to let them dry naturally, or they could become ineffective. Dyson recommends leaving them beside a fan or open window for at least 24 hours. Human hair was challenging for many of the upright vacuums we tested, no matter the flooring type. If your home is populated by short-haired inhabitants, this will not be a concern for you. If your home is like mine, however, and inhabited by long-haired humans and animals alike, this may be more important. With regards to brushroll tangling, the v6 wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst. Fortunately, I found it easy to access the brushroll and to pull the hair from around it. The motor is housed inside the brush-bar for belt-free drive and the bar itself can be removed with two coin-turn clips for tool-free cleaning. The data might reveal whether there's an ideal time of year to buy your preferred Dyson, or whether it's currently a peak period when prices tend to be at their highest. 4. Shop around Dyson CY26’s state-of-the-art cleaning unit comes with one of the most powerful suction on the market. Whether you’re removing pet hair, dirt or dust from your floors, the Dyson Big Ball will be able to handle any challenge. There are 28 cycloneswithin this vacuum, arranged over two separate tiers to create incredible centrifugal forces that capture microscopic dirt and dust particles. The radial formation sends air flowing through the entire assembly, to maximise suction and eliminate allergens.
