About this deal
The panel is almost too bright and vibrant straight out of the box, but you can of course heavily customise the brightness and a wealth of other settings via the on-screen display. We didn't notice any problems with tearing or blooming on this screen – with those 1,152 zones really doing their job – and we liked what we saw of the HDR performance as well, with darker and lighter areas of the picture always retaining their details. AGON by AOC introduces the AGON PRO AG344UXM, a 34" (86.4 cm) ultrawide monitor with eye-catching high-level DisplayHDR 1000, 170 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms GtG response time for smooth motion, and high UWQHD resolution of 3440x1440 for increased clarity and detail. While delivering excellent immersion in simulation, racing, and first-person titles that benefit from extra peripheral vision, the AG344UXM also excels at home-office and streaming activities thanks to built-in HDMI 2.1, USB-C connectivity, and an integrated KVM switch.
What we do like about the design of this monitor are the connectivity options that are included: two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB-C 3.2 port, plus USB hub functionality (courtesy of four USB-A ports). There's also a picture-by-picture mode that lets you view two inputs as well, plus a Keyboard Video Mouse (KVM) feature so you can swap the same monitor, keyboard and mouse between more than one PC.
Design and Features
The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen.
Gamut coverage – we provide measurements of the screens colour gamut relative to various reference spaces including sRGB, DCI-P3, Adobe RGB and Rec.2020. Coverage is shown in absolute numbers as well as relative, which helps identify where the coverage extends beyond a given reference space. A CIE-1976 chromaticity diagram (which provides improved accuracy compared with older CIE-1931 methods) is included which provides a visual representation of the monitors colour gamut as compared with sRGB, and if appropriate also relative to a wide gamut reference space such as DCI-P3. The AG344UXM is a clear contender as the definitive single display for all tasks from entertainment/gaming to work and productivity. Featuring DisplayPort 1.4 and the future-proof HDMI 2.1 connectivity, the AG344UXM can be easily connected to the latest generation of GPUs or current-gen consoles. Additionally, the AG344UXM features USB-C input, which supports transferring the full display signal with 170 Hz refresh rate and 10-bit colour, while providing 90 W USB Power Delivery simultaneously. This means that a gaming/high-end laptop or a powerful miniPC can also be connected to the monitor to take advantage of the monitor's high refresh rate using USB-C, while being powered and charged.Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. The stand provides a good range of ergonomic adjustments with tilt, height and swivel offered, all of which are smooth and pretty easy to use. The screen does have a bit of a wobble to it as you re-position it though, despite it’s large and heavy stand.
