About this deal

How to best keep our tires inflated? And, what’s more, is there a way that not only means we’re less likely to puncture but also includes a handful of performance benefits? I think it's also worth mentioning that just because something is quiet it doesn't necessarily mean that it means the rim is impervious to damage. Similarly, if something is making noise it might not be from the insert bottoming out and the rim hitting an obstacle but rather something such as the insert slapping the rim. In the second part of testing, we'll look further into maximum loads for the inserts in a more controlled manner. For now, it's a fool's errand to try and assert which impact would mean what in something that is so hard to repeat. The insert also adds sidewall support, which helps keep the tire from folding over in hard turns. Even at silly low pressures it feels like it's only the top 1/3 of the tires that's really moving around – the rest stays the same shape thanks to the insert, and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the tire to burp or peel off. There's a more muted feeling when you hit something hard, similar to the way a dead blow hammer behaves, or a medicine ball. In rough sections of trail it felt like my rear wheel wasn't getting bounced around as much, giving the bike a more planted feeling - it's genuinely impressive how much of a difference such a simple product can make. system has a spring and a damper, and with CushCore, pressurised air in the tyre is the spring and the CushCore tyre

I have run Tubeless with super gravity tyres (saving further weight over DH tyres) on my DH bike for years and cant remember my last puncture, even after weeks in the alps and races at Fort william. admittedly i am only 70kg, bit more with kit, but this is probably why i can get away with things more. It feels like far more of a system. It’s not something to be used with your normal pressures but rather in conjunction with the lower pressures enabled by running the insert. The grip was fantastic. The firmer feeling is not dissimilar to running a heavier compression tune. It thudded through everything it came across and it felt amazing. It rewards you the more you push and I consider it to be a performance product aimed at people who don’t merely want to protect their rims from occasional impacts, but rather people who need inserts to enable them to run lower pressures without them immediately breaking wheels. I found that the Rimpact could be fatiguing at times. It doesn't feel that comfortable, in that you often feel like you ride on the support of the material as opposed to solely on the tire supported by a chamber of air. It offers huge amounts of grip, but to say that there isn’t a trade off in terms of comfort wouldn’t be true. I also tend to run a very firm spring rate, which could have exacerbated this issue to some extent. I would, however, be very curious to try the Rimpact with a slightly lighter compression tune on my fork. I realize 38 is higher than almost everyone. But at 26 psi I would destroy the sidewalls in a few days of park riding (and my rims). As for traction, in dry conditions it hooks up much better at high pressure than at low pressures like 20psi, where I find it just starts breaking loose and keeps going because there is no support for the knobs to bite under hard cornering. Both grip admirably but I personally preferred the feel of the Rimpact. That said, the CushCore was far more comfortable. For somebody who doesn't want the feel of their tire drastically changed but does want all the support they can get their hands on, it's got to be the CushCore. Yes. Instead of injecting the sealant after the tyre is fully mounted, simply pour the sealant directly into the tyre before installing the second bead. We recommend injecting because it allows the sealant more ready access to the tyre bead where sealing is required. Set of 2 - (2) CushCore tyre inserts ( one 27.5 and one 29), (2) 44mm CushCore presta air valves, valve core When they’re on, their impact on the tire feel is significantly less profound than with their bigger brother, the Pro. Taking up less space inside the tire and pushing against less of the tire sidewall makes them fly under the radar a touch compared with the very obvious Pro. This means there’s less support for the tire sidewall, and so as pressures decrease into the insert-demanding realm – around 22 psi in a rear tire with downhill casing for my 95kg kitted mass – a bit of squirm can begin to creep in on hard corners and off-camber compressions. Don’t get me wrong, it’s significantly better than without an insert fitted, but there’s certainly not the same level of support as the bigger brother. Similarly, at nearly half the weight, their impact on the acceleration of the wheel is also much less, though on-par with most of the other insert options on the market.

CushCore transforms your tubeless tyre into a suspension system with a tune-able air spring and foam damper.OK so I got Cushcore 2 days ago, firstly the original valves are soft and the rubber heads are too narrow, I was getting leakage via the valve, upon tightening they actually pulled through my valve hole, maybe im heavy handed. lol

So far, no dents or flats. I have run them on really low pressure, and they do their job. I will say, surprise benefit they do "soften" the ride a little. The foams acts as a bit is suspension, and I honestly do feel like they have helped in the arm pump battle. insert is the damper. Like traditional suspension, a constant damping force wouldn't work.
