About this deal

Armed with a brazier axe, the solemn Flamekeepers are responsible for removing the ur-gold runes of fallen warriors. They can harness the power of lifeless runes to bestow blessings upon their fellow duardin, all the while bellowing litanies from beneath their grim death masks.*

For the uninitiated, campaign books are the “expansion content”, for want of a better phrase, that comes in each battlebox. Overseen by the Chief Engineer, the technicians are nearly falling asleep from exhaustion and boredom. Everyone in the room is suddenly alert as the pulsating starts up again. Victor Pemberton took inspiration from the UK's emerging interest in natural gas, which had recently been discovered in abundant quantities beneath the North Sea.The Doctor used his sonic screwdriver, referred as a "little toy", with some speaker amplifiers to create "sonic laser soundwaves" and defeat the weed creatures as can be seen on the alternate take of the story's climax. ( This is unknown as the script for episode one called mentions the Doctor's "own version of a screwdriver" with no mention of having sonic capacities --which was an idea from production assistant Michael Briant. ( DWM 277) Whether the script of episode six described the Doctor's "little toy" was the screwdriver is a fact not publicly available.) The range rulers that come with Fury of the Deep are pushed out of the same perforated board from which one removes their tokens, which means that they are made of card. Each ruler is also printed with a slightly different design, though due to the colour of the print, it’s not so obvious what’s going on in the artwork on each. Simply one is printed with a Fyreslayer design, the other with an Idoneth Deepkin design. Robson seems somewhat shaken by the heartbeat. Van Lutyens tries to force his point again, but Robson still insists he will not stop the gas. Commentary (episodes 1 and 5) with actor Frazer Hines ( Jamie), Production Assistant Michael E. Briant and Assistant Floor Manager Margot Hayhoe. As Ryftmar crumbles into the violent Aqshyan seas and its halls ring with the screams of the fallen, the Auric Flamekeeper will have no shortage of work…

Fury From the Deep is an enjoyable story from writer Victor Pemberton with tension, scares, convincing acting and good dialogue. It is quite similar to some of the Third Doctor stories like Inferno in many ways. Standing against him is an Auric Flamekeeper, a Fyreslayer warrior priest who presides over a Lodge’s funerary rites. Each Flamekeeper also carries a Masterflame Rune, an ember of the First Fire that erupted when Grimnir died. This shimmering rune is empowered by the deaths of nearby duardin, allowing the Flamekeeper to channel their spirits into powerful boons for their Auric Hearthguard and Vulkite Berzerker allies. Much like the slimline Core Rules book also included in this set, Warscroll Cards are one of those things that you don’t really appreciate the value of until you have a cause to use them. Two characters had their names changed to avoid confusion with other serials - Price was originally named Blake, but this was changed to avoid confusion with Corporal Blake in the previous story, The Web of Fear, ( DWM 277); while Quill was originally named Swan, but this was changed to avoid confusion with Swann in The Enemy of the World. These two mighty heroes will decide the fate of Ryftmar at the head of two forces comprising a total of 43 miniatures. None of the six episodes of this serial are known to exist in full or known to have survived in the BBC Archives (see Doctor Who missing episodes). The master videotapes for the story were the final 1960s Doctor Who episodes to be erased; they were authorised for wiping in late 1974. Robson is told that the pump is slowing down, and the Doctor informs him of the movement he heard in the pipes. Van Lutyens says that this is the exact same sound heard on the rigs. Robson is convinced the movement heard is simply a mechanical fault. He absolutely refuses to stop the gas flow, even as the pressure continues to drop. Harris is told the Doctor is airborne and heading to the central rig. Harris says that if he hasn't heard from the Doctor in an hour, he is evacuating the compound. Jones tries to argue, but Harris is firm.

The guard who refuses Maggie access is visible in an office next to the gate rather than just being heard over a speakerphone. As the dread tides of the Vitriolic Sea rise, and Ryftmar slips ever deeper into the boiling waves, Fury of the Deep draws that much closer. Price begins the process of closing up for the night, the impeller is functioning again and Robson is snapping at the technicians. All is well at the repository. Fury of the Deep has a decent amount of Idoneth Deepkin and Fyreslayers miniatures inside, here’s the price, value, and savings breakdown? Although the title is frequently seen as an insult, it affords great freedom to those who bear it. A Thrallmaster can roam far and wide in search of fresh soul-matter, mastering the pelagic lore of the ocean’s currents. Many will tame vicious sea creatures like the Snapjaw Eel, and even tattoo themselves with tidal maps to prove their navigational skills.*

Magmadroths Rules are Quite Fiery!

So, that’s your bases and the various books and cards that come in this set. Each are kept in their own plastic bag or wallet for safekeeping during transit. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Fury of the Deep Review – Contents They did mention this little tidbit that apparently the new Eldritch omens box will come out at the same time as well: All in all a very good adventure with great atmosphere. Though perhaps not reaching the classic proportions achieved by some of the other stories in the incredible series 5, but still excellent. The Auric Flamekeeper is one of two new models exclusive to this box set. Whilst these will no doubt be released separately in the near-ish future, collectors particularly keen to get their hands on some brand-new and original plastic will want to take note. The models are excellent. Sure, one or two of them have a couple of fiddly bits that don’t go together as well as one may like, and the accursed flight stand on the Alloplex is a pain, but persevere and you’ll be rewarded with some truly brilliant and unique miniatures.

This is about as good of a value for a box we’ve seen in a while. It feels like it’s been forever since we had even seen a new AoS battle box (Dominion doesn’t really count) but the value is basically identical to the last one. Victoria mentions that the TARDIS always seems to land on Earth. ( TV: The Abominable Snowmen, The Ice Warriors, The Enemy of the World, The Web of Fear) There’s a lot of stuff in this box. Like, a lot of stuff. Here it all is rammed into my (somewhat measly) lightbox. Let’s just hope the new Fyreslayers’ overall rules and Warscrolls in their battletome book help them out! Icon of Grimnir The Idoneth Deepkin also suffered a few points increases as well on their units which isn’t that much in the way of NERFs really… Fyreslayers Warscrolls & Rules Changes

If you don’t shoot this on turn one (or any turn for that matter) just be sure to mention it’s heating up NBA Jams style and when you get into range next turn, you’ll be at -3 Rend. If you haven’t taken any wounds this is super strong as you’ll be hitting on a 2+ and are heated up, this could dish out the damage. When the Doctor and Jamie land on the rig, the Doctor tells Jamie to "come on in, the water's lovely", mirroring his lines when he, Jamie and Victoria arrived on an Australian beach in the 21st century and the Doctor went for a swim.
