A decent tent – might sound silly but we have bought cheap in the beginning and it was a waste of money. Proper use of sunscreen combined with shelters made with UVGuard™ protection fabric can go a long way in the battle against sunburn and UV exposure. We LOVE the blackout technology they apply to lots of their models as it keeps kids (and us) sleeping longer and have never had any problems with the tents we have used.

This shelter took a serious amount of abuse from the weather and withstood it all, the only thing being we had to retighten the guy ropes after a night of severe winds, which considering the size of the shelter, is pretty impressive. As you might assume, this has been designed purely for garden and camping deployment, and of course the likes the school fairs and church fetes.Investing in a really good stove with family camping is imperative as trying to cook against the wind on something flimsy just doesn’t cut it. Have just got back from a long weekend of celebrating the Diamond Jubilee in Carnforth, on a site right on the coast of Morecambe Bay. It does however fit neatly into its own bag and we have a trolley so it would happily be pulled along on that.
No beating around the bush here as it couldn’t be considered light and though I could carry it on my own I wouldn’t be able to for long. It is reassuringly sturdy, with the very strong frame linking together well and being very quick to erect, as long as you have someone tall to do the centre piece at the top! This feature-rich event shelter from Coleman is perfect for spending time with family, friends and groups, great to use on the campsite, at events or at home in the garden. Although we're not usually ones to pick out any one item from our back catalogue of reviews, we have to say that one of the best things we were sent this summer was the portable gazebo from Aldi's Camping Range.
It's easy to attach the sunwalls as well, which simply clip on, while the sturdy steel poles mean that your shelter will stand strong. I would suggest that when pegging down the feet, you use at least 1 sturdier than normal peg on each corner as once the canvas is on and the wind is blowing, I can imagine normal pegs could quite easily be pulled up and the whole shelter becomes a giant kite. The shelter seemed robust and I had pitched a windbreak across one side and attached a sun wall to another, a tent being on another side.
