About this deal

The concept of the film was changed to show Presley as he toured arenas throughout the United States. The newspaper noted Presley's offstage presence marked by "warmth and grace" and that the performances onstage were "excellent". These two discs sound so clear on this remaster compared to other bootleg releases or even the fabulous FTD “On Tour- The Rehearsals’ compilation. The screams from his fans during ‘Love Me Tender’ again show the amazing interaction Elvis had with his audience, and again a short clip from here features in the film.

The reason why we haven’t put out anything on either FTD or RCA at this time is that we would ideally like to do it with them. Greensboro – This has always been a great concert including the first ever version of ‘Burning Love’ but all the bootlegs have been in mono.It remarked that the singer was "a little chubbier than he used to be" but that "the electricity" of his performance was as "magnetic as ever".

According to Zanes: 'The set lists and the performances of the Elvis On Tour period bring a rare thing: a fifties legend working in the early seventies who was still taking his audiences to new places….

Also, I am looking forward to hear what in my opinion is the most »touching and dramatic» and beautifully delivered version of It´s Over in perfectly balanced sound together with the thunderous reaction from the audience in Richmond on April 10th. Never Been To Spain’ also included in the film and it another great version and ‘Polk’ gets another serious work-out. Throughout the concerts you really get the feeling of the excitement from the audience shrieks and show is less rushed than Madison Square Garden and perhaps these concerts have even more of the feel of “A Prince From Another Planet”. Reviewer Dane Lanken felt that while the cinéma vérité camera work was "extreme" the performance of Presley "comes through". The directors told Presley that they did not like Elvis: That's the Way It Is, as they felt he was acting for the cameras.

Presley was undertaking a 15-city tour, and the film crew led by directors Pierre Adidge and Robert Abel (Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen) would capture four of those shows in Hampton, Virginia; Richmond, Virginia; Greensboro, North Carolina; and San Antonio, Texas.Until It’s Time For You To Go’ now features some wonderful work from Glen D Hardin and ‘Polk Salad’ rocks. The set also features an illuminating essay by rock historian/musician Warren Zanes, founding member of The Del Fuegos and Professor at New York University.
