About this deal

A second passed, and another; then a series of tingles erupted between my shoulder blades and spread up, over the back of my skull.

Disguised as a courtesan, she uses her abilities to feel people's intentions and even hear their thoughts at times, and she reports to Claude what she discovers. And the scene she was led to was terrifying, yet I couldn't help but noticing that I loved her thoughts. And even though the premise is a clear set up for including spice, I also really enjoyed the rest of the story, too. Found family and friendships as a trope is a personal favourite and here, I find myself amongst yet another one that I couldn’t get enough of.I can tell how much you really enjoyed it and your enjoyment of it is making me consider picking this up even though I have a feeling JLA and I just don’t vibe.

It's very similar to FBAA, which in itself is fine, but I found myself constantly comparing the two, and this one was lacking. I wasn’t sure what I’d think of this book since I’d only read the first few pages of FBAA and wasn’t sure it was for me. Due to this diagnosis, educating people on the varying degrees of blindness has become of passion of hers, right alongside writing, which she plans to do as long as she can. Because more times than not, people really didn’t want the answers they sought, and the truth of what was to come was often far more destructive than a lie.The same age as Claude, she was only a few years older than me, and clever, and she was so much more worldly than I could ever hope to be that I assumed she’d want little to do with me. Born with an intuition that never fails, Calista knows her talents are of great value to the power-hungry of the world, so she lives hidden as a courtesan of the Baron of Archwood. Fall of Ruin and Wrath follows Calista, a mortal who can see the future and has a strong intuition where she lives hidden at the Baron of Archwood's Palace.

I’m finding the same with the main characters of this novel as well, but they’re even more boring and plain and generic.Personally, I found myself more attached to the main characters in this series than those in her previous works (especially Poppy, as mentioned before). BUT I like where this is going and I think this may have been a good intro, which will allow the second book to hit the ground running. And if you’ve read any of her other masterpieces, or are a lover of romanstasy, you’re bound to love this one too.

Fall of Ruin and Wrath is pure Jennifer L Armentrout magic at its core and one that everyone needs to indulge themselves in. Calista finds herself torn between her intuition, which may save her from danger, and her heart, which pulls her towards a potentially doomed fate. I'm reading this for a good time, a distraction; the book equivalent of a shitty tv show you can't look away from and end up thoroughly obsessed with. Jennifer is my ride or die author, she always truly goes above and beyond and puts something extra unique and addictive into her books and forever leaves me craving for more. And while Thorne and Lis were worlds apart, it always felt like there was something pulling them together.

Separated by vast wilderness teeming with monsters and unimaginable dangers, each city is now ruled by a guardian―royalty who feed on mortal pleasure. Drenched in romance, the plot kept me on the edge of my seat as I fell in love with Calista and HER prince.
