About this deal

It did address her mental health journey however not enough for me to read it because it spoke about her experience - the information was there more to set up her ideas. Whilst I didn’t makes notes like the book suggests I still felt deeply attached to it and felt myself accepting myself if that makes sense. In this chat, Fearne and Paul explore attachment theory, communication styles, and the idea that instead of looking for ‘the one’ we should prioritise doing more of the things that light us up. It is not however a replacement for therapy for anyone struggling significantly with mental health issues but rather a warm, caring hug of a book to support alongside treatment, medication or self care. I have made no secret that over the past three- four years I have really battled with my mental health.

I felt reading some of the open and honest real life stories made me feel a little less alone in my personal battles with the dark side of my mental health. Work aside, Fearne is a mother of 2 and continues to find time to support a range of charities with seemingly no challenge too big for her, whether it be climbing Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief, or trekking the Inca Trail for Breast Cancer Care. If you can set aside time to think about your answers to the activities included it can support a change in mindset.I suppose the same is true for me in relation to noise as I grew up in such an idyllic and quiet environment I feel on edge around constant disturbing noises. I found Fearne’s approach really enlightening, she is down to earth and it’s a little like listening to a friend. The brand was created from her first book released in 2017, Happy, which was a Sunday Times Bestseller and a silver Nielsen Bestseller. How much happiness she takes in the simple things, like being with her family or cooking a meal for a friend.

If you desire to begin 'Finding joy in every day and letting go of perfect', then this book is the ideal companion for you. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing what will make you feel better and realising you cannot achieve it. What I like about this book is that it doesn’t tell you what to do, Fearne simple lays out very basic ideas for you which you are then meant to build from and apply to your own life. There are some amazing tips for dealing with life and it’s hardships, coping mechanisms for when it’s all still to much and all with a very positive vibe. Fearne is an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and also a patron for Post Pals, Tyler’s Trust and Coppafeel! The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. It was refreshing to hear real-life experiences from Fearne, there were sections that you could fill in and will look into doing that some point.

I didn’t hate Fearne (I’m not like that at all) I just didn’t warm to her and as such paid little attention to all the wonderful things she has created. She's known for her fun and upbeat presenting style, but Fearne Cotton has also been bravely open about her struggle with depression during some darker points in her life. They also talk about how we can critique beauty culture while still loving the magic of self-expression and adornment and art. I purchased this book for my 10-year-old stepdaughter after getting her the mood journal from Fearne Cotton as well.

Just don’t be fooled by its simplicity, it’s there to only lay the ideas in your head; the rest is up to you. The paperback was all black and white and dense chunks of text whereas the hardback is coloured illustrations and text and more spaced out which I find easier with my dyslexia. But although there is a lot to say about how a good night sleep and spending time in nature can help, it would be presemptuous to say this will cure depression or prevent it from happening.
