About this deal

It was established in the Scottish burgh of Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire in 1820, and continued to be produced and bottled at the town's Hill Street plant, once the world's largest bottling plant, [1] until its closure in 2012, a decision announced by Diageo in 2009 which would bring the 190-year association between the brand and Kilmarnock to an end. This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch! It’s sweet and rich on the nose, with deep notes of dark berries, sugary toffee, caramel, vanilla and freshly baked cherry pie, with a whisper of wood smoke.

The Johnnie Walker Platinum Label sits at the midpoint between gold and blue in the brand's broad range of blends.John Walker's grandsons patented the name Johnnie Walker in 1908 and launched a White Label, Special Red Label and Extra Special Black label whisky.

Johnnie Walker spirits have received strong scores at international spirits ratings competitions and from liquor review bodies. As it slips down the throat it leaves a super soft coating texture – like a vanilla ice cream – but rather than chilling the body it warms the chest up good and proper.

It gently releases a collection of delicate flavours to deliver something that is a very simple smooth sipper. At the tail end of it there’s that classic Johnnie Walker pinch of smoke, ticking the final flavour profile checkbox.

The Old Highland was renamed Johnnie Walker White Label, [17] and made a 6 year old, the Special Old Highland became Johnnie Walker Red Label at 10 years old, and Extra Special Old Highland was renamed Johnnie Walker Black Label, remaining 12 years old.
