About this deal

Back in the day you only qualified for the European Cup as actual champions of your league, rather than being 4th.

Birtles, who started his career as a carpet fitter, went on to play for England and Manchester United and Woodcock’s career saw him play for Arsenal and Germany’s FC Cologne. Read more about the condition New: An item that is still in its original shrink wrap from the manufacturer and the original manufacturer’s seal (if applicable) has not been removed. Anderson, Birtles and Woodcock all have their stories to tell and I’m sure many of us have heard some of the before. When I was a kid, the last few seasons of what was then known as the first division had teams like Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds as permanent fixtures alongside the usual suspects of Spurs, Man U, Liverpool and Everton. The feature-length documentary relives the tale of European Cup winners and local heroes Viv Anderson, Garry Birtles and Tony Woodcock and how they rose to the top.Eventually they succeeded in graduating from playing local junior football to winning the European Cup twice with Nottingham Forest in 1979 and 1980. Fantastic archive footage from the era as well as football action with all the different threads woven together superbly. However, there are some intriguing bits in this documentary about their own personal lives that I don’t believe have been talked about too much, if at all. Netflix adds a Rian Johnson director's commentary for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery to its streaming service.

It will then have a limited run in local cinemas from Thursday, May 25, before being released on digital, DVD and Blu-ray from Monday, June 5, courtesy of Miracle Media. The determined attitude to succeed against all odds is a characteristic which they have all had to rely on since retiring from football. Local Heroes explores football’s political and cultural transformation over the years and draws parallels between life as a footballer in the 1970s to life in the footballing world now. A growing collection of documentary films is springing up, telling stories of sporting successes over the past decades, and the cultural impact of them. Trinity will handle the film's distribution, including DVD, in the UK and work to promote it globally among the club's fans, sports documentary enthusiasts, broadcasters, and platforms. I don’t want to give away too much about the actual substance of the film, so I will let you make your own mind up, but I can tell you that it took me on an emotional journey that I’m pleased to have been on.
