About this deal

We are proud that our Mao Feng tea is amongst those produced here, by our friend Cheng, who ships directly to us from her farm. The light green liquor has a grassy and nutty aroma with thick vegetal, juicy and sweet yet savoury flavours.

Deep in the mountains of remote Northern Guizhou Province is an area where small tea producers enjoy an environment unspoilt by industry. Teapigs use real, quality, whole tea leaves, whole herbs, berries, flowers and spices, this makes for the highest quality tea with the best flavour.

Please note this container is not airtight and therefore once opened tea should be transferred to an airtight caddy or storage jar.

It is also possible to brew for longer or use larger proportion of leaves to water for a stronger flavour. Subsequent: 4 to 5 grams of tea, 80 to 100 mills 75 C degrees water, first brewing up to 30 second and each next longer about 20 second or even less.Delicate and refreshing, Mao Feng is a fantastic Chinese green tea variety, with a well-crafted leaf and a slightly sweet, fresh flavour. Its dark green leaves brighten when infused to produce a shimmering, clear, yellow colour with an initial smoothness, which evolves into the more complex, fragrant notes that characterise this famous green tea.

These recent changes have been implemented by DPD country-wide – they are not specific to Happykombucha parcel deliveries.

It captures the delicate taste of summer air and - unlike a lot of murky paper bag green teas - this one turns a clear pale green when infused. Birchall Mao Feng is a pure green tea sourced from China where the best very best green teas are found. Best enjoyed on it’s own, and brewed with water at 80 degrees C (if you don’t have a thermometer then take the kettle off just before boil! This tea has a delicate, natural taste, is highly refreshing and delicious with sweet floral flavour and a complex aroma. Huangshan Mao Feng tea's English translation is "Yellow Mountain Fur Peak" due to the small white hairs which cover the leaves and the shape of the processed leaves which resemble the peak of a mountain.

Caffeine Content: Contains a moderate amount of caffeine, ranging from 15-50mg per cup, depending on the brewing time. Preceding from the province of Zhejiang it is harvested at altitudes of 500 to 600 m starting at the beginning of April. It captures the delicate taste of summer air and, unlike a lot of murky paper bag green teas, this one turns a clear pale green when infused. High quality tea belongs in a 'tea temple' - these spacious, biodegradable mesh bag (made from corn starch) allows the leaves lots of room to infuse. We source this tea via our sourcing partner based in Huangshan City who deals with the farmers directly.
