About this deal

Crown Coin Minted to commemorate the death of Sir Winston Churchill in 1965 in good circulated condition. million Jemima Puddle-Duck 50p coins were struck, making it the second most scarce commemorative 50p design (excluding the Olympic 50p series) !

It's common to offer the Milner's Tower piece along with some other similar 50p coin, most frequently, the one commemorating the founding of Kew Gardens as well as coins representing the Olympics and some that recognise artists like Beatrix Potter and Benjamin Britten. The Isle of Man’s Milner’s Tower 50 pence coin is a rare find in Britain because of its low mintage figures and because it’s not legal tender in the UK.

Whilst slightly inconvenient we believe by sending all packages as a Tracked Large Letter, the contents are better protected and are less likely to be tampered with or go missing. Until 1971, The Isle of Man coins were part of the Manx pound which is the currency of the Isle of Man. The first of these is that because the population of the Isle of Man is relatively low, there have been relatively few units of this coin minted.

Unlike some special commemorative issues of the 50p coin, this one was only produced in rather limited quantity. Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS is a British sculptor who has produced many acclaimed works, among which are several designs for British coinage. He also contributed to building a church and helping the local area survive and thrive long after the mines had closed. Issued in 2015 by the Isle of Man, the rare 50 pence coin was made to honour the Island’s most famous landmark, Milner’s Tower. The tower was meant to be built in secret as a surprise, but once Milner found out he donated much of the building cost. Built in 1871 by the residents of Port Erin in honour of William Milner, a Liverpool safemaker (hence the shape of the tower in the form of a lock), who was a great benefactor of the town. Due to the high number of commemorative designs, no definitive design 50p coins were struck for circulation in 2016. Built in 1871 by the residences of Port Erin in honour of William Milner, a Liverpool safemaker (hence the shape of the tower in the form of a lock), who was a great benefactor of the town.
