The soft focus and swirls of cloud let us know we’re in a magical place, while the red flowers contrast with the deep blues in the sky to brighten up an otherwise cloudy moor. Luckily energy decks which command that the most are many colours and pack relatively few basic lands!

I like the art but I dislike the asymmetry and would rather a more even spread, especially given how few lands we have from some of those planes. I feel like Magic artists are made to refrain from having other land’s colors in the art, or they just do so by choice, and I love that about this land. My collection will never be as complete as yours, I just try to have a nice mix of old/new, foil/non-foil so that my drafters can flavor their decks to their liking.When she’s not taking names with Equipment and Aggro strategies in Commander, she loves to play any form of Limited. In foil, the soft glow really sings, and is a perfect complement to the color palette employed in many of white’s most popular cards that depict the dawn or twilight hours. They are like basic lands, only in that it is required for the game, but they serve different purposes. Consequently, colored nonbasic lands feature drawbacks, in addition to the fact that no more than four copies of nonbasic lands may be played in a deck.

Worldwake felt like a subset of Zendikar but was deemed a standalone and came with the basic lands to prove it. Lands are grounding in several ways and they may be appreciated for what they are both in and out of the context of Magic. some will be higher just from higher demand, but if you just need basic lands to play, i see no reason why you shouldn't be able to get them for 1 cent each. The Planeswalker sparks driving their way toward Nicol Bolas, Dragon God show up real nice against the darker background, and the fires of war spring out just as well. To date, there are two basic lands for each color — Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest and their snow-covered versions for white, blue, black, red, and green, respectively — and one for colorless — Wastes.I think having them predominantly on Swamps with a few Mountains included best fits the Joker’s colors. For some reason it was required to do new art (and a weird looking set symbol) for all the basic lands except the swamps so there are 16 (four of each non-swamp) of these.
