Unsurprisingly, not much is included in the polybag apart from the new 1992 version of Batman and a small stone gargoyle build for him to stand on. I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. On the other hand, the LEGO Group seemingly had enough leftover Michael Keaton Batman minifigures to bring us 854235 Batman Keyring in 2022, so this polybag could be another way to offload remaining supplies of that character (who also appeared in 2020’s 76161 1989 Batwing). He appears in a small range of sets released for summer 2023 that are based on the 1989 and 1992 films rather than The Flash.

Additionally, the Bat logo is also different, like in the movies, and the face printing has changed. From what I can tell in the images, the Shadowbox Batman minifigure is the same as the polybag version. And for eagle-eyed LEGO Batman fans out there, you may have noticed that this portion of the build is somehow reminiscent of the architectural details seen in the now-retired LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139), and the LEGO Batman 1989 Bat Wing (76161) sets. It’s Batman, and while DC has been languishing in the last few years, I’m really glad polybags like 30653 Batman 1992 still exist as cost-effective ways for those on a budget to get their hands on sought-after characters, and it’s not hyperbolic to say that this is one of the best polybags of 2023.Some LEGO® sets contain small parts that are NOT suitable for and may pose a hazard to children under 3 years of age. This polybag also offers a cost-effective way in adding this new minifigure version of the Caped Crusader to your collection.

The small scenery corner of a rooftop has been built into a building in my LEGO street so the Dark Knight can watch over the city. Notable features about the minifigure include the slight changes that have been made to Batman’s torso, as well as the moulded cape-and-cowl combo that came with the 1989 sets. However, it doesn’t full replace its predecessors since the printing on the actual Minifigure and the logo are different. The big drawcard of course is the 1992 Batman minifigure, which has only featured in two sets before this polybag (and the Batcave Shadowbox), 761390 1989 Batmobile and 76161 1989 Batwing which were 2 very large and expensive sets.
