About this deal

Young Viv is still fiercely loyal and protective, and of course there is trouble on the horizon, but the shining heart of the story is the friendships.

Glass floats and storm lanterns were strung or nailed up in the rafters, alongside netting and weathered oars with names carved into them. It was hard to enjoy because the characters involved are so lovable and earnest and honest its hard not to reserve a little judgement. nerdy niche bonus: gloomstalker ranger 5, assassin rogue 4, battlemaster fighter 3 is so strong + reminds me of the stealth archer build in skyrim. He has those gentleman/butler vibes that I have always found adorable which is why I loved him the minute he appeared on the page.

Baldree has mentioned three more standalone fantasy novels in this series will be written and published, and the first one is slated to be released in 2025.

This book left me with such a warm, happy, comfortable feeling, which you don't always expect from a book with orcs, necromancers, skeletons and mercenaries, but that is the wonderful thing about this series. Our beloved orc, Viv, gets injured whilst her and the other mercenaries are pursuing a powerful necromancer. Viv has been hunting down Varine the necromancer with her Ravens crew when she unfortunately gets injured. When Legends and Lattes appeared and took over the fantasy landscape early last year, it popularized the cozy fantasy subgenre. It made me feel like every scene between Viv and the love interest was crammed in for filler material and I was beyond bored.

She is a dwarf, so, just like Fern, she barely reaches Viv's knee and keeps feeding everyone pastries. Viv is sent to a sleepy beachside town to recover after an injury and she learns to love the town and also, books.

answers several of its predecessor's burning questions, including how everyone's favorite coffee-loving orc learned to appreciate books. Feeling less foul, she limped toward the door, but each thud of her heel against the floor pulsed black at the edges of her vision.
