About this deal

Cliff the crocodile discovers a slinky frock and some fabulous peals and heels, and just has to try on the outfit. Cannot be overstated: clothes are inanimate objects and do NOT possess genders; therefore, there are no girl/boy clothes. Pride-teemaan sopiva kuvakirja, jossa pikkukroko haluaisi kulkea mekossa, mutta pelkää isänsä mielipidettä. The choices of anthropomorphic characters are very clever: hyenas are the nasty bullies, and the fierce crocodiles aren’t that tough after all.

And despite the rehearsals going badly wrong, on the night of the performance, Dad just loves the show and declares his son Cliff to be star of the night, whispering to his son, ‘May I have my pearls back now? It provoked some interesting discussion; some boys were certain their parents wouldn’t like them wearing girls’ clothes. A delicious book by Alison Green with illustrations and a foreword by Axel Scheffler, plus pictures by 38 international illustrators, to celebrate kindness and humankind. No spoilers but this is a wonderful story about being loved for who you are with Jeanne Willis' usual touch of humour. She has also won numerous awards, including the Children's Book Award, the Sheffield Children's Book Award and the Silver Smarties Prize.Wanda the little witch loves school, but she's a little shy - and very nervous about the school magic contest! Other than that, I try my best to draw every day and dream of one day writing and illustrating my own picture book. It became evident during the conversation that they had never even considered, for example, a boy wanting to wear a dress, or for that matter, any other challenges to stereotypes. g. with this one mr5 sees nothing wrong with the crocodile in a dress and pearls until the hyenas tell him it’s something not acceptable so the message is kind of lost- and the message actually becomes not everyone will accept you. The support of other creatures in the swamp to put on the show is what makes the story worth the read. Jeanne has also worked on scripts for TV, including POLLY POCKET and THE SLOW NORRIS, and a pilot TV series for DR XARGLE. Uma história importante nos dias que correm, porque nem todos os meninos têm de vestir calças assim como todas as meninas não têm de gostar de vestidos!

By the inky, stinky swamp where no one ever goes, Cliff the little crocodile found a pile of clothes. If you want to do something, but you don’t because you’re worried about what people will say then you aren’t good to your own heart. O meu filho adora usar os meus longos colares, inclusive nos últimos dias teima em sair de casa com um longo colar de bolas coloridas que tenho, numa destas saídas um Sr chegou a fazer um comentário ao meu filho “Um menino com um colar?Of course, it's also a look at inclusion and acceptance and supporting your friends and family to be who they want to be. Celebrating acceptance and being who you really are, this joyful story is about Cliff, the crocodile who wants to wear a dress. It deals with issues children may well come up against and is put together in a way that makes the reader feel looked after and okay, even though things in life may well feel far from okay. Upeasti toteutettu kerronta yhdenvertaisuudesta, itsensä ilmaisusta ja ennen kaikkea omassa nahassaan viihtymisestä!

It is a story about love, and its overriding message is to be brave – your friends will stand by you, and your parents won’t even care what you wear because they love you unconditionally.

Serious conversations with small children are brilliant and always leave me feeling refreshed and excited for the future. However Cliff is told to be himself which is the message of the book, to be yourself, and in the end it is proved that he had nothing to be afraid of all along as, of course, his dad accepts him for who he is. Fun story about acceptance of a crocodile who finds some clothes in the swamp and tries them on and is teased by other animals.
