STURDY STRUCTURE: Strong stainless steel construction creates a stable platform for your cookware, very durable. It doesn’t come with instructions but if you cannot figure out how it goes together then you should not be playing with fire. You can also burn cat litter (wooden pellets) and with a full load get a burn time of around an hour. The titanium construction not only makes the stove extremely lightweight, but also ensures it’ll withstand the rigours of outdoor adventures.
Long story short is that air is drawn through a chamber, heated and mixed with the wood gas and injected back into the flame giving you a secondary burn increasing efficiency and removing any smoke and the endless scrubbing of soot from your pots. But, after a few uses the metal becomes darkened (on the inside) so it becomes obvious how to fold it. Watching review after review of the market leaders I decided to spring for the Chinese knockoff of the Solo Stove in the hope that I would end up with something usable at a fraction of the cost. It isn’t really a true alternative to an alcohol or gas stove, but it works – you can cook food on/with it.As the fire consumes the longer sticks, just keep pushing them in a little further until they’re fully consumed. There are many versions of this stove some without the port but the performance is the same just the need to remove your pot feed the stove can become tiresome. You can reverse the fire nest to enable you to either use the bowl provided (I use this to hold my fatwood scrapings in) for burning meth’s or whack a burner in there. It will boil enough water to make a brew in a 58 pattern mug in 3 minutes and doesn’t burn so hot that food gets incinerated. Gas Pump has been built-in wear resistant device, which makes the inside cup leather more durable and has larger gas supply. After lighting (and once the twigs are burning well) place three or four long (>30cm) pieces of wood through the hole at the front, directly on top of the smaller pieces of wood. Make full use of the unlimited fuel collected from your hike, such as twigs, branches, paper, and leaves. I’ll probably have it as a permanent fixture in my camping bag except for those times when I’m really trying to cut down on weight and take ONLY the absolute essentials. I usually spend 15-20 minutes gathering wood and breaking it into 4-10cm long pieces and that gives me enough to keep the fire going for 1-2 hours.The build quality of the stove itself is certainly of a high standard, nor burrs, sharp edges or dodgy welds. To get around this, I fashioned supports from coat hangers (you can see them in the pictures) and then went on to develop a ‘grill’ plate that I can put on the top so that I can barbeque fish/meat directly over the flame. This will allow you to elevate the long pieces of wood that you stick into it and allow them to protrude horizontally (rather than pointing upwards at an angle). First impressions were good, it came in a thick mesh carry bag which looks man enough to take some abuse.
