Things that are too London for the Grimshaws include, but are not limited to, yoga, oat milk, therapy and drinking a glass of water.

Listened as an audiobook and it was great hearing it told by Grimmy himself, took me right back to morning drives to school listening to his Radio 1 breakfast show, always made me laugh and this book did exactly that, but also had some really genuine moments too. It’s a party that has grown to encompass a jolly podcast with Angela Hartnett, and Celebrity Gogglebox, in which he curls up on the sofa in a tracksuit with his niece, Liv, and chats shit about the telly while eating crisps (“You can’t put a rabbi in a hot-tub,” “Do you know what gets rid of ghosts? For fifty years, she has trained to slay wyrms - but none have appeared since the Nameless One, and the younger generation. It was always Heartbeat that made me feel down that it was the end of the weekend and I still get that feeling today sometimes, although Heartbeat is long gone sadly. Ever since he can remember, Nick Grimshaw wanted to present Radio 1’s breakfast show – and that’s what he did.

A story I remembered, but only the part of it I had been privy to through social media six years ago. Grimshaw (“Grimmy” to friends, which include, by default, his audiences, who come up to him on the street and start talking as though they’re midway through a conversation) chuckled, awkwardly. These are his very best tales and learnings about himself from things gone right and wrong, with all the high and lows, that will make listeners laugh, cry and feel completely nostalgic. i have been a fan of nick grimshaw for years, both his voice on the radio and his instagram stories cracking me up on the regular; to listen to him speak for six hours about the highs and lows of his life, the stories detailing how he got to where and who he is today was so special, not to mention, so fucking funny. Having listened to Nick Grimshaw for many years on Radio 1, but not knowing much about his personal life or how he got where he is today, this was a very insightful read!
