millioin colors, which are typical for 8-bit display panels, and not the standard 262200 colors, instead. The vertical frequency/refresh rate shows how many times in a second the image on the screen is refreshed. The 32GN650-B is much better for dark room gaming thanks to its high-contrast VA panel, but the IPS panel on the 27GN850-B has wider viewing angles that are better for co-op gaming.

However, what really makes the 27GN950 special is the combination of this stellar gaming performance with the sharpness of 4K, and the extremely wide color palette offered by the 96% DCI-P3 coverage. However, they’re not overclockable to 160 Hz, and instead limited to 144 Hz, and their overall look is a little tackier. But it didn’t come with any drivers nor any decent operating manual (came with a cd, no cover, that has hardly anything on it). I'm also not a fan of the 'gamer' aesthetic so I don't love how the back of the monitors look but since they'll be against a wall and not visible it doesn't really matter. Greater Clarity, More Realistic 27GN850 supports HDR10, enabling realistic visual immersion with rich colors and contrast.

The interface is controlled through a single directional toggle at the bottom of the display, and it’s extremely crisp, responsive, and easy to navigate. It maintains its brightness extremely consistent across different content, and it gets bright enough to combat glare. Being a 27-inch monitor, the first thing that will stand out about the 27GN950 is that it isn’t very big.

I used the GL83A side-by-side with the Dell S2716DG for about a week and the GL83A is definitely the winner here. If I had it as a standalone monitor I probably wouldn't notice it as much but having it next to the GL83A really highlights the differences. The trade-off is that it’s not as immersive as something like the LG 34GN850 Curved Ultrawide with the same Nano-IPS technology, but not everyone wants a huge, ultrawide monitor on their desk. Requires a bit of calibration, every panel is slightly different so best way to calibrate is by using a calibration device.

PayPal Credit and PayPal Pay in 3 are trading names of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH. Uniformity seems a bit better on the GL83A on both white and grey backgrounds but this could be down to panel variance. Blacks appear gray when viewed in the dark, and there's no local dimming feature to help improve it. On the other hand, the LG has much better out-of-the-box accuracy, so you may not need to get it calibrated.

This subreddit is for News, Reviews, or high quality discussions related to Monitors and Display Technologies. It's an interesting move considering CES is also bringing the first 27-inch OLED monitors from LG that have been the talk of tech for the past couple of months.

There are many various interfaces under the VESA standard, which differ in the size of the brackets, the distances between the screw holes and their number.
