About this deal

A spicy, green leathery chypre - very closely related to Cabochard and Azuree also by Bernard Chant. I started wearing Aramis back in 1977 and this is one of those power-house colognes with high sillage which were so popular in that era. Getting ready for a night out right now and just sprayed Aramis on, now im ready for anything…might even take my darts with me. It'll please your grand/great grandmother but other than that I doubt it will please a woman in my age group. This is a smell from a time when men were tough, brave, strong, courageous, responsible but also loving fathers.

the old Aramis is much more offensive with its synthetic green notes and the Top notes will last longer. If you're looking for an old-school über-masculine fragrance, I'd say try this one out, and use it very sparingly. I now have 20 different kinds of Aramis on my shelf along with do many other fragrances -(Hogo boss, Joop, Calvin klein etc. But I could also immediately link this backwards in time to Chant's beautiful 1959 green leather fragrance for women for Gres, Cabochard, which is also like Chant's later Azurée. The Aramis potion is fortifying its mystique alongside the smell of garlic and ginger imbedded in the pads of my fingers from cooking dinner.

Aramis eau de toilette spray for men is a woody and aromatic perfume, opening with top notes of aldehydes, artemsia, gardenia and bergamot, blending with a heart of patchouli, sage, orris root and cardamom, all of which sits on top of a smooth base of leather, sandalwood, amber and musk.

C. Leyendecker's illustrations (especially the one for Interwoven Socks with the man sitting by a windows, smoking a pipe, reading a book and wearing a warm, red cardigan) or vintage James Bond. I remember he owned Armani Aqua Di Gio, YSL Kouros (iconic bottles I'll never forget) that's the only reason I remember that my dad owned them.

I associate summer to this fragrance, though it is voted as being more 'winter' appropriate (the rebellious wearer doth make the keenest impression). My uncle used to wear this all the time, you could tell he was home because the whole house would smell like Aramis. Anyway, it became my signiture scent and every weekend I'd be out ob the tiles wearing my Aramis cologne feeling enything was possible. Vintage bottle finally in hand, I decided I had to do a side by side comparison with the modern version. Aramis is a living legend from the times when fragrances were completely different - Stronger, more aldehydic.

Unfortunately for many people this makes this fragrance seem dated, and certainly the trend in fragrances throughout the 90s and the 00s was away from Aramis (and from chypres in general). com/products/aramis-aramis-eau-de-toilette-mens-aftershave-spray-110ml 1399081861213 Aramis Aramis Eau de Toilette Men's Aftershave Spray (110ml, 240ml) 28. Successful all-day grooming starts, and finishes, with Aramis – the fragrance that expresses all a man is.I am not one to shy away from the more masc leaning fragrances — I am a modern woman, if I can't have a man, I may as well be one — but here I smell something unyieldingly phallic, earthy, brooding. Aramis to young guys in the US is what Eau Sauvage is to young guys in France and Germany; a cologne that starts you off in the world of scent.
