It was a beautiful day on set and I thought it was a great way for us to find out where Bucky had been hiding in Wakanda. Plus, instead of being just a good vs bad guy plot, there was depth and valid arguments raised from both the hero and the villain {in an awesome performance by Michael B. Usually I can’t digest super hero movies, but bought this for my 6-year old super-hero-obsessed son who recently read an early-reader book about the topic.

The release includes never-before-seen extras, features commentary from director Ryan Coogler, has deleted scenes, outtakes, and several making-of featurettes. Told with uncommon accuracy and refraining from any measure of sensationalism, this fascinating and disturbing film fell foul of a media-driven campaign upon its original cinema release which resulted in an effective ban. The cast is excellent across the board, Kilmonger is an especially good villain and it's good to see so many strong women take centre stage without even a hint of them being just 'decoration' and 'love interests'.

A week before we shot the scenes in South Korea, they finalized exactly what Nakia was going to say, so all week I kept practicing the lines over and over again. But it does do it a little differently in that the central moral dilemmas that T'Challa faces are new territory for these movies, and as with all good moral dilemmas, they make the viewer think about what they would do in a similar situation. Wakanda itself feels like a real, breathing place and if the designers don't garner at least a nomination come awards season I'll be very surprised.
