About this deal

Thankfully, all of the bricks/blocks that I will be using this time are all new and are metric in size. So dug a hole, filled it, but then came the brickying bit and this is something I have not done before! I am an amateur bricky and have built plenty without the bricky tool but this just makes life so much easier with exactly the right amount of mortar on the bed every time .

So its 28 course to door lintel 28x2 is 56mm you would be out of gauge, seeing that 3 brick equal to one block on the inner leaf, how would the ties work, wall ties can tilt from the inner leaf to the outer leaf too much of a tilt and the site agent would have kittens and ask you to take it down. Overall, the opinions are mixed, and it'd be best to read the reviews carefully before making a purchase. It was easier than not having it, but far from as easy as the video on how to use it seemed to claim. This sliding compound mitre saw is ideal for construction workers, those working on floors, fencing, loft and garage conversions etc.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). You'll also quickly develop and eye for those bricks that are dimensionally off and leave them out of your current build.

It is compact, but has a large cutting capacity and that combination makes this a very popular choice for those in the industry. The finish was excellent, but (as a complete novice at the time) it took me two days to complete it in line with my high standards. The (metric) bricks we are using at the mo' are somewhat smaller than a 'standard' metric brick by as much as a couple of mill on length and height. The head hights for all window and doors work to this gauge, so the brickies mate give a perfect 10mm bed, so usuing a brick that is 63mm deep with a 10mm bed you would be out of gauge by 2mm per brick. If bricks are laid frog down, the weight of the wall is taken only on a small area and the brick may fail. I did not get the 4 black aligning pegs in my kit and did not know about them until watching the dvd. You could lay a batten to guide the tool, and remove the metal guide lugs underneath for this, and would guide the damp course at the same time.

The metal guides are very sharpe so be aware, tricky to get over so started onto the bricks, especially when making a cavity wall. Some say it makes life so much better for first-time brickie's and that the DVD is also a very useful part of the kit. Bit tricky doing one of cavity walls with insulation and wall ties in place but managed would have helped in sides slightly thinner . Bricks alter in depth and length, bricks with a bed have to work to 75mm, two course 150mm,3= 225mm if a bricklayer has a brick that is 63mm he will make the bed 13 mm to make it up to 75mm. Building a porch to the front of my house getting alot of nice comments from neighbours, and job offers.Yes its ok for the lay man, but to say a bricklayer would use it is a load of old tosh no bricklayer worth his salt would do 10mm beds, 10 mm bed would only work with bricks that would be 65mm deep, i have used brick that are 68 deep i then had to make the beds 7mm deep, again with brickies mate i would be 3mm + out of gauge, after 28 courses i would be 84mm + out of gauge. All good take your time when starting out, the bricky pro will keep your brickwork clean and the mortar beds uniformed.
