About this deal

Cooked in a stone brick oven, then double distilled in copper pots and then fermented in open air wooden tanks.

Presented in a hand-blown Mexican glass bottle, it features a hand-made stopper shaped like agave pinas for a full experience from the moment you open it. The piñas are then slowly steam-cooked for 36 hours, powered by the distillery’s 115-year-old vintage boiler.Followed up with a woodsy forest aroma, hot cider with a stick of cinnamon, vanilla, juicy fruit, oranges and grilling pineapple. With baked agave, vanilla and a slightly spicy and enduring finish, their Añejo is well worth a try.

Notes of caramel, vanilla, butterscotch and cooked agave jump from the glass while the palate is oily and textured with yet more carmel, toffee and citrus oils. Fortaleza Añejo is a 100% agave tequila made using traditional techniques including brick ovens, a Tahona wheel, fermentation in open air wooden tanks and double distillation copper pot stills.

Having only launched the brand Fortaleza in 2005, there is still over 140 years of history behind it. The balance of wood and purity of agave and vegetal is such a treat it makes you want to giggle because it's what you thought an anejo should always have been.

Fortaleza Anejo Tequila is made using traditional methods that have been passed down for generations, ensuring a taste that is true to its heritage.
