About this deal

It's also refreshingly realistic and candid about the difficulties that go with pregnancy and birth. Then comes the arrival of a distant cousin Piers Blanchard who says he is the rightful heir to Rockwood.

Years later, when tragedy strikes, Rosina runs away to join a theatrical troupe and her natural talent for singing wins the hearts of the crowds. Book One of The Rockwood Chronicles Reader reviews for Fortune's Daughter'I literally could not put this book down'⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'Dilly Court never disappoints .Until the day comes when the dashing Piers Blanchard appears on their doorstep from Cornwall, claiming he is Rosalind’s distant cousin and that Rockwood Castle is his. THERE are moments in ''Fortune's Daughter'' when it is almost a shock to come upon the specific details of everyday life. The story ends a little too soon, and not all is resolved, though the book definitely leaves a deep impression of the characters' lives.

What I like about Dilly Court is that she gets on with the story immediately and you get involved quickly and I was hooked all the way through right to the end. The secret isn't the point -- which is why I mention it here -- but how the plague of having that secret has affected Lila's life, and how meeting Rae brings it back to the surface.

To me the characters were like something out of a Jane Eyre or Daphne Du Maurier novel, and I could often see myself imagining Judy Dench as Lady Pentelow, and Keira Knightly as Rosalind…the jury is still out in my mind as to who would play Piers!
