The Lazzaroni family originally operated under two different companies but in 1927 they joined to become one sole company producing both the Amaretto Liqueur and food products. Lazzaroni Amaretto is the only liqueur made from the famous Amaretti del Chiostro biscuits, a speciality of the town of Saronno in the region of Lombardy in northern Italy.

First, the biscuits are crushed into small pieces which are then soaked in an hydroacoholic solution for one month to enrich it with an aromatic taste and the intense flavour of the biscuits.
