About this deal

To begin the game you must first decide upon an Architect, who will take one set of tiles, find the tile labelled 1 and set it aside, remove 5 other tiles from their set at random, shuffle them and place the remaining tiles in a face-down stack. If you manage to fully enclose a section of leaves with a monument you earn two points per rune instead. There’s enough choice to be actively influencing your chances of winning, but an element of luck that means you won’t beat yourself up if you lose. Simplicity – Easy to learn, easy to play – minimal actions to each turn (draw a tile, place a tile, place a tree token if triggered) and not much in the way of special rules to keep straight. If we don’t have a game you are looking for it please contact us and we will do our best to help you.

The game is complete when the full set of 19 tiles have been revealed, and each of the players have created their unique forested world. One player, the "Leader", shuffles their tiles face down, then removes five tiles from play without looking at them. Each player may take a tree of any color and add it anywhere on their board such that it’s clearly in a space matching its color. Just make sure you realize that five of those tiles are never getting played, so you can’t rely on all of them. If a token is in a closed section (there are no half Runes), you score two points for every full Rune in it. The game ends after everyone has placed their twenty tiles, then players score points based on the areas where they have monuments. But if there is a legal place to play it, it must be placed there, even if the player prefers not to.

The architect player throws away 5 of his stack at random and the rest of the players build face up based on the random draws of the architect. The edge of each tile has a crescent shape which, when connected to another tile, forms a complete circle. Light on Strategy Needed for the Win – Individual tile placement is key and one can keep track of the tiles not yet drawn to understand how best to place the current tile.Add in that it’s quick to play and easy to score, and I think you’ll find that this is an easy game to get to the table and the exact right kind of game for players to just want to play over and over (and I’ve indeed experienced this effect). Legendary Forests is a light tile placement game where players are given identical tiles and must compete to create a high scoring forest by placing tiles and scoring cards in the best possible way. In it, you play as forest spirits eager to prove that they are truly the best when it comes to arboreal construction. Later in the game, this should change as each player tries to create larger forests for the trees they have chosen, so don’t worry that people are ‘copying’!

This information, which might be about you, your preferences, or your internet device (computer, tablet or mobile), is mostly used to make the site work as you expect it to. That’s kind of what makes the game interesting, to me, but I can see this being a bit frustrating for other players, as with similar skill levels / building types, the game may come down to one tile or one tree poorly placed. Most of the numbers on the World tiles are on a dark background, but a few are on a light background. First, the Architect draws the top tile from their stack and announces the number printed on its face. That being said, one thing I love about Legendary Forests that I do not see in most tile placement games is the consistency between players’ tiles. You will face off against other world builders who will work with the same materials that you have to see who can build the greatest forest world.

One player will have the construction token and they will have the option of taking a Tree token and placing it somewhere in their forest. tiles (5 sets numbered 1 through 25) depicting half runes along the edges along with a mix of grass, maple leaves, golden ginkgo leaves and cherry blossoms. At first, it felt a little strange that the Architect is ‘in charge’ but you quickly realise all players have equal opportunities. Then they will look to see if the colored section is in a closed zone, meaning that all runes in the center of the tiles are complete circles. Everyone getting the same loadout usually means unless someone messes up, the scores will be pretty similar.I would highly suggest it for teachers looking for quick games to implement for classrooms or board game clubs. If a color is no longer available from the supply, then you cannot take any more Tree tokens of that color.
